When I started this blog in July 2007, I decided I wasn’t going to write about jewelry every day. In fact, I decided I wasn’t going to commit to writing about any one topic every day. Even back then, before the fashion-blogger boom, I’d already seen numerous fashion bloggers burn out after six or eight months. Sometimes they felt like what started out as a passion became an obligation. Other times, their lives changed and they lost interest in fashion. I figured that I’d be able to stick with the blog if I gave myself the freedom to write about whatever interested me.
In light of my plan, I am slightly amused to see that all I’ve written about this week is jewelry. I’ve already done four posts in a row about it, introducing new designs and providing information on sales. On Wednesday, I did intend to write about a different topic, but the new pope was named and I absolutely had to say a few words about the lockets I designed in honor of a mythical female pope. Seeing as I’m on this streak and I put a new design on my website today, I decided I might as well make it five consecutive jewelry posts — an entire workweek of jewelry.
WWD recently wrote that social-media-inspired jewelry is all the rage. I introduced my sterling-silver emoticon-heart rings in 2011, and followed up with cufflinks.
Now, I’m all about stud earrings, so I added emoticon-heart studs to the collection. I gave you a sneak peek at the set last December.
Since then, I haven’t been able to keep a pair of these around long enough to get a proper photo taken. Every time I announce on my Facebook page that I have a set in stock, someone emails me to reserve it, and then asks charmingly if I can send it to her immediately. How can I say no to a gorgeous client? I finally realized I needed to keep quiet about the next set long enough to allow photographer John Muggenborg take a website-worthy photo. So here is the emoticon-heart stud-earring set on my site at last.
If you have two or more piercings in one ear, you can wear these next to each other to form the emoticon heart, but other customers have been happy to wear one stud in each ear. Whatever works for you! Right now, I have one pair in stock, so if you want to get that next week, buy now. (If you don’t get this one, all hope is not lost; I will have more inventory in April.)
If you like the mismatched studs in general, don’t forget to check out my other options:
You can also buy any of my stud earrings as singles and create your own sets by combining my design with other earrings you already have. And I have even more fun single stud earrings coming soon. Collect them all!
P.S. Don’t forget to order your bunny earrings if you want them in time for Easter. I have two pairs left that are guaranteed to get to U.S. destinations for the holiday.
