I’ve got a new nail look from celebrity manicurist Tracylee Percival.
This one reminded us of Captain America …
… so we’re calling it “Captain Manhattan.” The left thumb is the only red nail. The thumb on the right hand is blue. All the colors are by Gelish: Ocean Wave (blue), Red Roses (red), and Allure (gold).
I’m mortified that I have a meeting with some non-jewelry/magazine/store peeps on Monday. It’s not an artsy crowd and, in that situation, my nails, once again, don’t say, “This is a serious person!” I mentioned this to Tracylee. She told me that I can paint over a gel manicure with regular polish, then remove the polish with (non-acetone) polish remover and go back to the gels when it’s safe to look like a lunatic again. If I’m not too lazy, I might try that. That’s a very big “if,” though.
I’m wearing crazy flower nails all week in front if clients and everyone. As you say, wear what you like. I think it gives people something to talk about (like fancy shoes) so it’s really a positive
Ha ha! Good point. Good to be remembered for something. Actually, I’m the one who is considering the product that is being presented. So I have the upper hand…pun intended…in which case I guess I can really wear what I want.
WendyB, your creative quality nails just might put the presenter of the product at ease, boost their confidence, and help them tremendously in this endeavor.
About the man in the glasses on my blog today, I also vote for doing something, not angry. After all, none of us truly realizes the many movements of the muscles in our faces and the resulting instantaneous expressions.
I want to know what special powers they give you! X-ray vision? The ability to move intimate objects using just your mind? Prescience over the price of gold? (That would be a good one…)
Pfft, let the fun flag fly. Fabulous nails.
Hi, Wendy! I am watching Ice Loves Coco and it reminded me how much I love your blog after all this time basically not reading any of the blogs I used to read regularly. Glad to see you’re still making beautiful jewelry, being hilarious, and getting your nails painted in amazing ways. Hope you’re loving Coco’s show and she hasn’t let you down as your idol!
Rest assured that I love her more than ever!
Do not cover those nails for they are most triumphant!
Holy smokes batman, those nails are fantastic!
I’m with Poochie. Let your laziness win!
Wendy, that’s a great tip. I work in software consulting so can be really casual and fun. However, most of my clients are involved in finance – probably not quite appropriate.
EEEE! I love this mani. So fun. I bet you can totally paint over for the meeting. Please let us know if you do, and if was removed without damaging your lightning bolts. Curious.
You’d be surprised how many people are crazy underneath. Leave them be, they are too fabulous not to show off to one and all x
DAMN! I want that!
I can’t imagine anyone looking at that manicure and thinking bad thoughts about you. It is 18 kinds of amazing.
Wow, the repainting/removing sounds intense! Do let us know what you do . ..
I so love this look
hope it lasts til the 4th of July !

You are such a character! I say, if you have the upper hand, wear the super hero nails.
your nails are so cute.
I accidentally got regular black nailpolish on an opi red manicure (i had my nails done, but not my toes) and it came right off. But if was only a little bit, and I took it off right away.
I love this manicure–the word that keeps coming to mind is “bionic!”
This post gets me excited about my going to San Diego Comic Con next month.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I love that manicure! I haven’t been able to paint my nails in fun ways in a while!
I always shy away from fun manis because I work in corp America. Would be great if it works to paint over the fun one and be able to remove the safe paint without damage. Let us know if it works. 🙂
This looks so cool in person! Even the girl who sold you your jeans commented on it!
this is so cool! Love it!
Love your nails!
so great and very creative!
