I hated the color green for a long time. I wouldn’t consider wearing green clothes. Then, suddenly, something changed and I loved green.
That might be due to Zang Toi, who got me into this gown for the 2006 Oscars. I suspect I couldn’t resist the matching peacock-feather fan.
Once I committed to green, I was all in. In fact, the weekend I wore the Zang gown, I bought a green Lillie Rubin dress that I wound up wearing to Vanity Fair’s Oscars party … ten years later.
This picture of me in a green Ossie Clark dress is also from 2006.
I’ve acquired more green clothes since then, especially from Zang.
One of my favorite gems is the green garnet known as tsavorite. I often use it in my designs.
Some of my other designs with green gemstones are on sale through the weekend, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Get them now and be prepared for next March 17!
This green tourmaline weighs 6.5 carats and is set in 18K yellow gold.
My Oscar-worthy Susan earrings boast 16.39 carats of peridot and 1.41 carats of diamonds.
And if you’re looking for something to wear every day, these six-millimeter emerald cabochon studs can be purchased without the cat earring jackets.
If you’re interested in the studs alone, email me at info at wendybrandes dot com and I’ll give you the special price.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day … and don’t overdo it on the green beer tonight!
UPDATED TO ADD: How did I forget that I have green lipstick?! Now I kinda wish I were going out tonight!
