This photo isn’t in very good condition, but I still love it. I believe it’s from the early ’80s. That’s my gorgeous mother, BarbaraB, on the right, and her stylish friend Ursula on the left.
BarbaraB doesn’t have a look of disapproval on her face, but something about her expression — plus the angle and distance between Mom and Ursa — made me think of the famous picture of Sophia Loren eyeing Jayne Mansfield’s bosom.
Ursula was so chic and severe. She reminded me of sex-ay villain Ursa from 1980’s Superman II. Hmmm … she even has the full sleeves.

The names are awfully close too. OMG! Ursa survived Superman II and was living a quiet civilian life in Mahwah, N.J.!
