New Spidey Manicure, New Mid-Finger Rings

I finally got to see celebrity manicurist Tracylee Percival yesterday. It was our first appointment since August. Between her fashion week and celebrity jobs, Tracylee was a hard woman to find.  I think she was sorry so much time had passed when she saw my several ripped cuticles and one weirdly dented thumbnail. (About the nail, I said, “I don’t know how that happened, so don’t ask,” and she didn’t.) She patched everything up and applied Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips in Halloween-themed “Spun for You.” I hate real-life spiders, but spiderweb nails are fine with me.

The dented thumbnail is on the other hand. Seriously, I don’t know what happened to it.

Here’s another shot of the nails — plus a sneak peek at the mid-finger ring designs I’ve done for my WENDYB by Wendy Brandes diffusion line.

From the left, there’s a B ring in 14K gold; a dollar sign for you “Get money, bitch” peeps in gold-plated sterling silver; and an asterisk ring in sterling silver. I made these because I constantly fiddle with my Memento Mori skull pinky ring, taking it off my pinky and putting it mid-finger elsewhere. But it never feels secure enough, so I made the new styles in size 4 with an open shank (band), to allow the wearer to pinch the ring tighter or open it a little wider to get a good fit.

  6. If I can find that Sally Hansen stuff, me and my stubbly little fingers are so there. But I’m mad at them because they are too little for size 4 mid finger rings. When I adopted The Teen, we got matching pinky rings, only mine fell off somewhere and was lost.

My birthday is next month & I was already planning to treat myself to one of the big initial rings but I may need several of these instead! Or in addition to…uh-oh!
