I’m proud to say I’ve been nominated for Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award in the fine-jewelry category! Last year, I was a finalist, and I’d sure like to be one again. If you’re an FGI member, you need to go vote in person at FGI’s New York offices at 8 West 40th Street in New York City. The first round of voting starts on Tuesday and continues through December 13. (The finalists will be announced on December 14th, and then there’s another round of voting in January.)
I promise you’ll be impressed by my entries, which include the Empress Wu dragon earrings from yesterday’s post.
I also entered three other pieces. I don’t want to ruin the suspense, so I won’t list them here. You FGI people (Candice, I’m looking at you!) will have to go and see for yourselves. While you’re there, don’t forget to vote for designer/blogger Stacy Lomman, who is a nominee in the women’s ready-to-wear category.
I always tell people that even if my medieval-meets-modern style isn’t what they personally would wear, that’s okay. Whatever your taste, a close examination of my designs will show that my attention to detail is extraordinary and my workmanship is impeccable. My goal is to create beauty that defies time and trends. To me, jewelry is more than ornamentation: it’s wearable art. I want to make every design museum-worthy. And it’s not just surface beauty that I’m interested in. My jewelry feels luxurious, with its surprising heft and perfect polish. Plus, I test-drive all of my designs so I can be sure that each piece is comfortable to wear. So, FGI members, go take a look at my pieces in person and cast your vote! I’m confident that you’ll like what you see.
Yay! Big hugs to you and Stacy for the nominations! I’d so vote for you both if I had an FGI membership, but since I don’t, I’ll just help sell your jewelry next year instead.
Fingers crossed!
oh this is so exciting
wish i could power vote for you 🙂
can’t wait to see what else you entered
best wishes!
