Gorgeous clothing designer/blogger Stacy Lomman and I had a joint meet-and-greet with a number of magazine editors, stylists and bloggers on Wednesday. It’s important for journalists to see my designs up close. Even the best photos don’t convey the beauty of jewelry the way seeing a ring on your own finger does. And Stacy’s clothes complement my pieces nicely.

Stacy wore her own designs, of course.

Stacy, in a suit of her own design, posed by a rack of her evening wear.

I opted for a pair of Versace pants that I hadn’t worn since 2008. You can see my jewels displayed behind me.

What Wendy Wore
Sweater: Alexander McQueen (possibly from 2004)
Pants: Versace (also likely from 2004)
Boots: Prada (2008)
Necklace: My own Queen of Scots design

In 2005, I went to a strip club while wearing these pants. No, I was not stripping! I was hanging out with some lady friends. Guys kept coming up to me and saying, “I like your pants” and trying to buy me drinks. I thought that was a strange financial decision. Here you are at a strip club. Give $20 to a stripper and she’ll bounce around topless on your lap. Buy me a $20 drink and you get a whole lot of nothing. Well, perhaps I’ll smile in your direction and, I must admit, my smile is priceless. Maybe it makes sense after all.

What a great event! Thank you my generous friend for having me join you :) And all of your readers should know that this photo I snapped of you doesn’t do you justice. It’s really difficult to pull off patterned pants like this… you need to be skinny minny!

  2. Loving the look of Stacy’s evening wear and you look fab in black and white!

meet and greets with editors and cool pants at strip clubs – you and stacy are my kind of girlfriends!! … so that’s where they have all been hiding…NYC. :)

  4. I agree with Stacy!! It’s not easy pulling off pants with such a bold plaid print – you look gorgeous and thin!

  5. mystyle says:

I adore those pants! They look absolutely fantastic on you. Adding wide-leg pants to my want list right now…

Your smile lights up any room, and is worth far more than a paltry $20/drink or no.

  11. Elizabeth says:

And congratulations to Stacy on her meetings!

Why wouldn’t they buy you a drink, you’re hot stuff!! I bet the strippers were glad when you left the premises so they could have their $20 tips back ;o)

  13. Rebecca says:

    Those pants are fantastic.

  14. I always think it’s better to keep your clothes on in a strip joint! Sorry I missed you in NY – maybe next time?

  15. She’s good: I love that jacket. I have the identical mirror behind you in my living room! The pants accentuate your great figure. That’s why the dogs were sniffing. ie., not cos they’re into fashion.

I adore those pants Wendy. I have a ridiculous collection of loud plaid pants. My favorite pairs is magenta and emerald green D &G jodhpur thingys. I am short and short legged and not that slender. I should not wear plaid pants, and I DO NOT CARE. They make me feel good.
You however should wear them all the time. They look awesome!

How did the meeting go? Stacy’s clothes are fantastic! And, where is the signature WB pose with crossed legs.

  23. You make me laugh so much. Your smile is priceless (featuring the best lipstick too). And I agree with Tina – you are branching out on the poses. I was rather shocked.

    Love Stacy’s suit too.

  24. K-Line says:

  29. I love your pants. . no wonder the men rather buy you a drink ;)

it’s the charm and rarity of a ‘commodity’ that makes everything seemingly defy economic sense

  30. Terri says:

I like the pants…but trying to fathom the message they were sending…

  31. Ofelia says:

You look so chic! A great pair of pants over a fake pair of boobs! Those guys were smart!

  32. And your jewelry is beautiful too!

  33. EJ says:

Oh, if only the mirror was slightly higher and to the left and you’d have a halo (there’s an idea, would you ever be tempted to make someone a halo? Not sure how it would float, but I’m sure you could work something out.)
