See me (but don’t feel me) talking about the ethics panel I moderated for the  Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence conference in February. You also get to see my dollar dress in action.

This is the dollar dress in question, cuddled up to gorgeous bloggers Tavi and Jennine.

I’ve had a Who song stuck in my head for two days because of this post’s title.

I bumped into Roger Daltrey when I was 15 and took his picture. I’ll have to look for that.

  1. YIKES Yr a STAR Wendy!!!
    Like you weren’t already…ahem
Bear has taken into consideration your comment and has decided he will also go for the Black Pearls since your taste is immpecable.
After seeing the IFB video, Bear has disclosed that no one gave him a free trip or any free black pearls and he would like to know why not?

I remember watching you on the panel on the live stream. I thought you did a wonderful job and you were the perfect person to moderate.

Thank you for posting this, Wendy. Such interesting, complicated ideas were discussed, so it’s great to hear different opinions. I just loved the dress you wore, by the way! So appropriate!

  4. And how exactly does one bump into Roger Daltry? Do tell.

Hi there-So sorry, I can see you, but unfortunately I can’t hear you, as I’ve no audio on my computer or laptop :-( I’ll do some pictures in the McQueen suit and send them to you over the weekend :-)

  6. This was excellent Miss Wendy, I love your word ‘infiltrated’. The emphasis on gifts made me kind of think the categories for same should either be test products or payola, something along those lines.

More importantly (heh-heh), you looked *fabulous*!
    Smiles at you,

When I was working my little fingers to the bone in Houston, I was often offered “perks” to push someone’s product to my interior design clients. I think this is common in a lot of fields where product is involved…whether it be a discount, kickback, gift. I never felt comfortable with it…but in hindsight, it was the product companies that I was less likely to recommend who offered the perks. The higher end/well established brands were less needy of this ploy.

Loved the video…you looked great. I wish I photographed/videoed as well as you!

  20. enc says:

You were articulate, engaging, sharp, and beautiful, as always!

I liked what that NYT guy had to say. Also, the panelist who spoke about products was right no, I think.

  21. enc says:

I meant to say “on,” not “no.”

  22. Good stuff – can you come over to London for the next one please? Oh and you’d have to wear a ‘fiver’ dress, we don’t have pound notes any more.

  23. Missy says:

Yes, I remember this! And I what a deal on that vintage money dress. I know you had to have some work done to it, but what a deal!

  26. savvygal says:

Wendy, I guess you can add me to the I love Kate Lanphear list. She is quite nice but then she has no reason to be mean to me. : ) BTW, you look like a million bucks….
