If you think Andy Warhol’s line, “Everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes” is overused, you’re not alone. Embed from Getty Images In 1979, Warhol himself said, “I’m bored with that line. I never use it anymore. My new line is, “In fifteen minutes everybody will be famous.’” I will now present my most recent…

Six Facts About Me, Requested by Lady N
The gorgeous and outgoing Lady N has tagged me, so I’m going to list six facts about myself. I’m not going to tag anyone else because I fear everyone has been tagged a million times (I think Lady N got to all the untagged people!). But if you haven’t been tagged and feel like doing…
Ossie’s Back!
I am thrilled that the Ossie Clark label is going to be revived at last! I know the guy who held the rights to the name and he was trying to get something going for long time. But he wanted something high quality, and someone who would respect the label. None of the Topshop/H&M stuff….
Guess What Happens on November 1?
Pumpkins are taken in back of the barn and shot. Great. Now PETA (Pumpkin Euthanasia is Tragic Always!) is going to be all over my ass. In other news — and I know this is going to hurt you much more than it hurts me, as my high school English teacher used to say —…
I Am Not a Puritan
As I mentioned in this post, I am not now nor have I ever been a Puritan, despite my appearance in this 1994 photo (short hair, no-dancing policy). I am a Sex-ay Pilgrim! I call this vintage Donald Brooks gown the Sex-ay Pilgrim Dress because of the combination of severely tailored black wool and plunging…
’60s-Style Patent Boots
Shopbop has lots of stylish patent leather accessories. I love patent. In my experience it holds up really well. My 12-year-old Prada Mary Janes are black patent. On Shopbop, these white patent boots caught my eye. Paul & Joe Patent “Flea” Stretch Boot If you’ve ever gone shopping for original ’60s go-go boots, you’ll know…
Send in the Fabulous Clowns
I’m madly in love with this over-the-top vintage Clovis Ruffin sweater, available for $275 on eBay. This is one of those pieces where I thought, “Oh my God! No!” swiftly followed by “I love it, I need it, I want to marry it!” So Isabella Blow-meets-Minnie Mouse! If you can rock this, you have achieved…
PSA: J. Crew Lexington Jacket
J. Crew’s popular Lexington jacket ($250) is back in a variety of solid colors including yellow and the pinkish “azalea.” Not as Balenciaga-esque as the Bella jacket, but that’s sold out except in navy. I can’t vouch for the quality, but the style is timeless. I say be bold and go for a bright color.
Why Does Buyer’s Guilt Focus on Fashion?
The short answer: sexism, my friends! If you have very little patience or time, you can stop here. Otherwise, you may continue. The long, meandering answer starts momentarily. If you would like to use the restroom, you might want to do it now. I’ll wait. Take your time. Okay! Welcome back! As I’ve read more…
Niceness Alert!
Once in a while, something great happens that I didn’t expect or even know I wanted, and I am so happy that, upon reflection, I realize it was secretly my one and only desire all along and that I will never want anything again. Unfortunately, the “never want anything again” part only lasts a minute…
