Jewels of the Month, Part 1: Punk Platinum
It’s rare that I get to introduce a full collection (nearly) all at once. Usually I’m creating and revealing just one or two designs at a time. But today is different! June’s Jewels of the Month are the first nine styles of my brand-new Punk Platinum line. I was inspired to do this collection after…
Balmain Vs Nasty Gal; Billboard Music Awards
This story is giving me LIFE, as the kids say today! On Sunday, Taylor Swift wore a white, cut-out jumpsuit to the Billboard Music Awards, and retailer Nasty Gal proudly claimed credit for it, as one does when a celebrity wears one’s designs. View image | gettyimages.com Too bad it wasn’t a Nasty Gal piece…
Jewel of the Month: Boleyn Necklace for Wolf Hall Fans
Are all of you Anne Boleyn/Tudor history fans watching Wolf Hall on Masterpiece on PBS? I saw the excellent theatrical adaptations of Hilary Mantel’s historical novel Wolf Hall and its sequel, Bring Up the Bodies, in London last summer. The books and adaptations are about the rise of Thomas Cromwell, who rose from poverty to…
Introducing Moko
Last year, a British singer named Moko caught my eye as well as my ear when she put out an EP (her second) called Gold. Can you blame me? Look at this woman! I’m obsessed with her look. Talk about a signature hair style! Moko’s got substance as well as style. In 2013, she put…
Wendy Brandes Jewelry in the San Francisco Chronicle
I’ve got to give a belated thank you to the San Francisco Chronicle for including a nice big photo of my gold IDGAF necklace in a Valentine’s Day story called “Tough-Love Tactics.” The Chronicle also shouted out my “Screw U” mixed earring pair, which I would love to see someone wear with Stubbs & Wootton’s…

This limited-edition, 18K-gold-and-diamond design was inspired by a twisting locket featured in the 2006 movie The Illusionist. In the film, which was set in…
Wendy Brandes Jewelry in K-Note Magazine
This is certainly my week for international recognition! First, my Pink Elephant and Tipsy Writer Maneater ring was on the cover of Jewellery News Asia. Now, two of my designs are in K-Note, a Turkish magazine that goes to luxury car customers. Hopefully, those readers are luxury jewelry customers too. The pieces are part of…
Year in Review: Jewels of the Month for 2014
My Jewel of the Month posts highlight my newest jewelry designs. Here are 2014’s hot jewels from both my luxe signature line and my social-media-inspired WENDYB by Wendy Brandes diffusion line. Click the photos to read the original posts. Single earrings were hot this year and they’re not going to let up in 2015. I…
What’s Old Is New Again
My gorgeous mother BarbaraB inherited an old opal-and-diamond pendant. Normally, I’d redesign something like this, but opals are very soft and it’s not always a good idea to disturb them. Instead, I got her a 21″ chain so the pendant would hit her in the right spot. Pretty, isn’t it?
