Gorgeous blogger Oh Lady E was in town on Friday. We had dinner at Novita, then hopped a cab to Orchard Street to see if my friend Evan was at his shop. He wasn’t, so we wandered across the street to Hairy Mary’s Vintage & Design, where we met the delightful Sharon. Sharon has some…

Backup Dinner Outfit
Mr. B and I had to celebrate our anniversary last night because he has a work-related event tonight. I had outfit trauma while getting ready because I put on a vintage dress only to decide it needed alterations. This is what I wore instead. Red Lipstick #2: YSL Rouge Pur 131
Today’s red lipstick recommendation is YSL’s Rouge Pur 131, also known as Opium Red. It’s deeper than my favorite red. I found a wall in Krakow that kind of matched. This lipstick doesn’t have the extra lead or whatever it is that makes my favorite lipstick semi-permanent. Still, it survived a pierogi lunch.
An Example of Extremely Poor Planning
Tomorrow is our last full day of vacation … and we’ll be spending it in Auschwitz. I think I might have planned that better. On a happier note, I enjoyed molesting some ivy in Krakow today. (I decided to give the flowers a break.) Ivy League We also visited some good kings and queens at…
Red Lipstick #1: MAC’s Lasting Lust
A couple of people have asked me to comment on the red lipstick I wear. I’ve been feeling unqualified to do so because — even though I used to have a whole wardrobe of red lipsticks — I’ve been boringly faithful to MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcolor in Lasting Lust for more than a year. As…
London, Day 5: Out of Town
Yesterday we took a taxi, two trains, a bus and another taxi (one way) to visit the ruins of Kenilworth Castle. Kenilworth Why was I so determined to get there? Because the castle has many links to the royal ladies in my life. The castle was given to its first owner by Empress Matilda‘s dad,…
London, Day 4: The Wallace Collection
Thank you to Times of Glory for recommending that we check out the Wallace Collection. We loved it. Hertford House The museum at Hertford House displays the art collected by Marquesses of Hertford. Sir Richard Wallace, after whom the collection is named, was the son of the 4th Marquess. The collection is known for its…
Speaking of Ossie …
Speaking of Ossie Clark, my favorite Ossie dress style is on sale on eBay. Check out the auction here. If you bid, don’t forget to snipe!
London, Day 2: The Wizard of Ossie
Today was all about Ossie Clark. Ossie obsessives like gorgeous blogger Sharon Rose know that the late designer, who was never good with money, sold his financially troubled line to clothing manufacturer Al Radley in the ’70s. (A large percentage of the vintage Ossies floating around nowadays are from the Ossie Clark for Radley line.)…
