I thought glamorous WendyB client Melissa‘s $1200 bid on my fabulous auction of jewelry and immortality might rattle gorgeous blogger Deja Pseu, but I was wrong. DP boldly struck back with a $1500 bid! That’s right! The going bid for my auction to raise funds for Stephanie (NieNie) and Christian Nielson’s medical expenses is now $1,500. It’s on! I wonder what gorgeous bidders Christine, Everybody Says Don’t, and ENC — who were battling it out all morning — are thinking?
To refresh your memory, every cent is going to help gorgeous blogger Stephanie Nielson and her family, after Stephanie and Christian were badly burned in a plane crash. The high bidder is going to take home a one-of-a-kind engraved silver Diana Necklace designed by moi and sparkling blue topaz stud earrings. In addition, I will immortalize the winner by naming a brand-new jewelry design after him or her.
Here’s my new incentive: If the winning bid is $2,000 or over, I upgrade the blue topaz earrings to diamond earrings. Conflict-free diamonds, of course! Sheesh, you shouldn’t even have to ask me that. For the other incentives, click here. The auction runs till Friday! A lot can happen by then.
Let me point out that this outrageously beautiful Prada bag costs $1,995 at Bergdorf Goodman.
If you can afford to buy that bag, you can afford to bid $2,000 on my auction to have a better shot at immortality. If you’re thinking of buying this bag, you should first think about spending that money on beautiful jewelry that’s going to help a family in need. Then, if you can still afford to buy the Prada bag after making your bid, by all means, do so! I would never deprive anyone of their Prada. But if you must make a choice, the choice is obvious, no?
After all, if you buy the Prada, someone will say, “Nice bag.” You’ll say, “Thanks.” And then that’s it. If you are the winner of my auction, someone will say, “Nice necklace.” You’ll say, “There’s a story about this necklace …” And you will have everyone’s rapt attention. People will marvel at your exquisite taste and generosity.
So who is going to bid $2,000? I have $1,500. For five dollars more than that beautiful lace Prada bag, you can have immortality PLUS diamond earrings PLUS a beautiful, silver necklace. Think about it. And I better not see anyone carrying that bag if she hasn’t bid! That’s for damn sure. So $2,000 is the next level I’m looking for. Click here to bid.
Those of you who are not in this price range can do two things. First, click the blue button to the right of this post and donate $5, $10, or $20 to help a fellow blogger in need. Second, link to this post from your blog. I have to reach as many Prada bag admirers as possible!
Stephanie’s siblings have been on TV talking about the astonishing generosity of bloggers who have chipped in to help NieNie. Click here to see Stephanie’s sister on KSL television. She was also with her other siblings on the Today show.
I expect my readers to prove that they are the most astonishingly generous of all.
By the way, has everyone seen Victoria Beckham’s stunning new hairdo?
I think it’s obvious who she’s copying: Melissa! Melissa is a fashion force to be reckoned with. But Deja Pseu seems up to the challenge.
ANOTHER NOTE: Interesting story in the New York Times that mentions Lauren Manning, a 9/11 survivor, who was burned over 80% of her body, like NieNie. Lauren is doing miraculously well.

You should work at Sotheby’s.
La Belette Rouge says
…Or as a charity fundraiser. Really, Wendy, this is so great of you.

Sadly it is out of my budget but I hope you make a lot for it. It is a great cause!
WendyB says
Coco, if you click the blue button on the right, you can contribute any amount directly to Stephanie’s fund via Paypal. Even a very small amount! You don’t have to bid to help. But finding me more bidders would be good too 🙂

I think Wendy should work to fund national health care for America. Or become President.

And VB’s hair? I like it!! The always glam WendyB could pull off this gamine crop too . . .
Songy says
Agree. spread the love is the theme of week.. which should continue.
VB seems to be always ahead of the pack. a true muse in a funny sense I guess. Miss C is right tho. Wendy should try this cut.

Wow, I could have sworn I posted one! I’ll have to check my camera and see if I have the one I swore I posted.
Miss Janey says
Hot damn- its a bidding war.
Miss J just cut her hair ultra-short. She must admit Posh looks just a bit hooter.
WendyB says
Are we going to see a photo, Miss J?
quoththeraven says
You posted a pic of Henry with the black lace one. And we’ve seen you with the fringe one. But not carrying the lace bag.
WendyB says
I will make sure I get one with the lace bag. I’ve been carrying it a lot — probably just avoiding the camera due to bad face days and whatnot.
bear says
love vb’s new cut!
