My gorgeous sister, Terri Berry, is an enthusiastic and dramatic story-teller who uses the word “literally” liberally. As in, “He was 2000 years old, literally!” even though she’s talking about a living person, not the Lindow Man. Obviously she knows what “literally” means! This is just her way of adding some zing to her story.
Anyway, these animal-related blog posts made me laugh my ass off. Literally! I’m assless. Check out:
- Katrocket’s photo evidence of “hilarious squirrel attacks.”
- Meg’s very short but sweet ovine reference.
- Painfully Ordinary‘s raccoon on the rampage.
- Miss Doxie‘s epic stuffed-nose-and-goose story, complete with reenactments.
The sad result of a goose/traffic conflict, as seen on Miss Doxie
Elsewhere in the blog world:
- Feel free to have a good cry over the best fashion story ever.
- A “welcome back” goes out to La Belette Rouge. I’m glad she changed her mind.
- Thanks to Luxenoir for introducing me to creepily beautiful Enchanted Dolls.
- Kirsty at That’s Just My Vibe offers a tutorial in bleaching your jeans to get this effect.
- I have been meaning to mention Judaysia from A Hair Affair for ages! After I wrote about her here, she kindly sent me two of her hair products: Holy Water leave-in conditioner and Hairdresser in a Can volumizing spray. I love them both and recommend them highly.

Laughing my own ass off at those squirrels, and wiping away a tear from the story of Nikki.
My younger brother always says, “Just the other day I was…” or “The other day x happened.” and it could be up to 10 years ago, usually at least 6 months.

‘The best fashion story ever’ makes you feel very humble indeed.

Personal pet peeve… people who misuse the word “literally”…
of course then we can get into trouble… case in point the Olympics Opening Ceremonies…
They said that OC were very cinematic… and they were showing the fireworks “approaching” the stadium and mentioned that they were literally cinematic… Of course my wife and I just rolled our eyes… until we realized the next day that they were actually right… the fireworks WERE literally cinematic… they were computer generated and weren’t real!

Holy crap – I wish my mom knew how to use a computer because I would love to send that raccoon video her way!
Nice roundup 🙂

That was the best goose related blog post I’ve ever read. Literally!
I think your sister is on to something, that comment really had some pizazz!
styleraven says
A big ‘WTF?’ at the raccoon video.
I got all excited when I saw your sister’s name. I thought you were gonna say she had the baby.
WendyB says
Not till November for the baby, Raven. Isn’t that raccoon obnoxious?

so funny to read this since i used to have a HUGE issue when people used the term ‘literally’ in the wrong context. i even have heard sportscasters talking about a game when a football player got tired and say, ‘oh man, that guy sure is beat…he literally hit a wall out there!’ um….no, that would be figuratively, buddy.
Siljesfashion says
How fun. Thanks for sharing!

I came back to say that I’m sorry for saying “pizazz” on your blog.
I promise never to do that again.

Wendy, Thanks. It is so good to hear from you. I am waiting to see if I have to leave. The hills by house are on fire. Lots of action here. Helicopters, fire engines, etc. Maybe i will turn up in N.Y.
