When I saw the first picture I was not getting the dress. Then I saw what you did to the dress and how great it looks and I get why I am not a fashion designer. Brilliant, you!

Some Ossie pieces can look limp and dreary because of all the volume. They need a human occupant to bring them to life!
Alyasays
I like it shorter.. Really really pretty.
CDPsays
I like it shorter, too. I love the sleeves.
Sharon Rosesays
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This is so, so lovely-Wendy,this is an instance when an Ossie ‘chopped’ is definitely for the best!!
WendyBsays
I should point out that I didn’t have a choice about hemming this — it was badly stained!
Sharon Rosesays
Well, I think the stain did you a favour because dare I say that the short version is miles better than the longer one. I suppose if the dress was immaculate it wouldn’t really be right to cut it-I wouldn’t want to, if it was in perfect condition. Your version is really outstanding!
alexgirlsays
Gorgeous dress. Hemming it was such a good idea!

Very pretty!

THAT is lovely, WendyB. The sage green… you are WEARIN’ it.
Step Right Upsays
Def better on you than that creepy mannequin!
The Seekersays
Wow, what a great work you’ve done. When I first see the mannequin I was in doubt because I wasn’t feeling much into that, but when I saw you… you look great.

Your edit on this dress is genius. Tres chic – and hip. K

awesome when hemmed!

But of course Butters from South Park! Also, that dress looks very pretty on you. It’s figure-flattering and I’m wishing I had it.
Siljesfashionsays
Love Ossie design and you totally rock it. That colour is gorgeous and I find often that its just better to hem some of the vintage dresses as they are way to long or suffer from stains.
ambikasays
You look lovely–that color looks fantastic with your dark hair and the lipstick.
encsays
Beautiful, and perfect for you. That pistachio color is brillo with your hair.

the hem was a good move

And you are the perfect-o human occupant for this Ossie!
Still no swollen letters!
jenninesays
i wouldn’t have guessed how cool that dress looks. stunning!

saw that on ebay the other day and was struck by it because it’s the first time i’ve seen that style with a print… i’ve seen so many in solid colors. i have one in fire engine red myself… unhemmed, but i’m 5’11 so i think i manage to pull off the maxi.
and i have to agree with some of the other commenters– at first glance this wasn’t my favorite print, but seeing it on you makes me think twice! 🙂
Susie Bubblesays
Love what you have done with it…the Ossie Clark 70’s length is tricky to wear but you’ve altered it marvellously…

its amazing what the hemming does to the garment! so pretty xoxo
