I sneaked off to Miami for the weekend, where Paul and I had dinner with our brilliant friend Andy Tobias. Andy has a blog and was kind enough to mention me in the same breath as Warren Buffett and the late William Buckley Jr. I assure you that Andy and I are both aware of the fact that the only qualities I share with those men are my initials. I hope that people who are coming here via Andy’s blog aren’t disappointed that I’m neither wildly rich nor in any way conservative.
My regular peeps should know that Andy is the author of a number of books.
I highly recommend The Only Investment Guide You’ll Ever Need. If I had heeded its advice, I’d be very wealthy by now, but there was no chapter on How to Resist New Prada Handbags. Andy, maybe you can add that to the next edition.
Other fine Andy Tobias works are:
Unfortunately, Andy’s BF, fashion designer Charles Nolan, wasn’t available for dinner. Check out Charles’ fall collection! Bows galore!
Charles calls me Anita because one time when we got together I was feeling all sassy like Rita Moreno in West Side Story.
You can shop for Charles Nolan clothes at Saks.
Other things I saw in Miami:
Of course, I have lots of hot bikini photos but if I shared them here, Pistols would get all stalky. I have enough trouble fending off Jennifer!
Hey isn’t that what happened with Adam and Eve? ‘cept you’re Wendy and that wall hanging is well…androgynous…I think. Maybe its name is Wally. yeah, Wally Apple.
Hey! Wait a minute! Did you say bikini photos!? I’d like a vote on those. ok, we win-post em! (it was a fixed vote but what the hey!)
Pic nr 2: Im loving it!
Sometimes I get so jealous of ur eventful and interesting life that I tell myself ur making this stuff up.
Dammit.
Well sounds like a great weekend. I should be so jealous…
I like how you depict your life in such a modest way. Your married to a lovely man, go on regular trips, hang out with successful authors, fashion designers have nicknames for you and you run a successful jewelry company…you really do have the life Miss B ๐
Those bows and that jacket would go so well with my new lavender handbag … le sigh …
Your dress=awesome.
Alya and Shalini, well, I don’t share pictures of the days I’m sitting around in an old t-shirt, worrying about the high price of gold while watching Law & Order marathons. But trust me, that is 95% of my life.
Micgar, I ate that apple but didn’t gain any wisdom. Disappointing.
Mira, thanks.
Lynn, don’t you live in a tropical paradise?
FG, totally!
IYF, at the pool,I saw a woman wearing a tunic as a cover up in the same print. That was weird. That’s why I usually stick to vintage or unidentifiable black.
I want some neck bow/cravat action too!
now i have “america” stuck in my head. thanks, anita, err..wendy! ๐
I havnt seen west side story but I totally love her skirt! Very vintage but i guess it is an old film, Got 1 a bit like it!
Lovin the site – funny pics!

Did you happen to read Andy’s latest column?
Or the Sunday Times article on Thinking Twice About That $400 Handbag?
^^ Seeing as I’m in the luxury goods business as a seller, not just a buyer, I keep pretty close track of the economy ๐
I don’t think that my complete and total creepiness should prevent the world from ogling you in a bikini. Besides, it’s not like the cameras I instal-
I’ve said too much.
[into his watch]Abort! Abort!
let’s not forget warren beatty…
Miami is fun!!!
You almost met Charles Nolan ?I would cut off an arm and a leg for that!!!
I thought of you yesterday when they kept showing Paris Hiltons necklace and it looked like your design, the anne boleyn “b”
I have met Charles many times! He just wasn’t around for dinner that night ๐ He’s great! Very talented and handsome too. I am going to have to investigate this Hilton necklace.
*whispering into apple* “PAD knows I know about the cameras! What’s plan B?”
oh stop is some more!
just because you are pretty, smart, smell good, have perfect feet and hair, are a brilliant designer, and the wittiest blogger i know! gosh, does that make me a stalker??? i certainly hope so!!!
you know a bow designer? how turned on are you???
Tropical it is, paradise… depends… but it’s the travelling that I’m jealous of hehe!
I am loving the bows…and the West Side Story inspiration ๐
