This is a fact.

Drogon and Ghost: the best bois of Westeros and Essos combined!
Another fact: This was an awesome visual.
"You're a Dragon. Be a Dragon." The best shot of the episode. #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/my3aO1mw3P

Not long after that shot, I was sitting on my couch and urging Dany to sit her ass down too, in order to feel that Iron Throne while she had a chance. We all knew what was coming after she got high on her own power supply and went into full-on, Alexander-the-Great, let-me-conquer-everything, the-world-is-mine-to-burn mode. With thousands of men at her command, she, as expected, got taken down by the one she let get too close. Jon Snow was always a BOSOM SERPENT! Girl, I tried to tell you! What part of “I will have here but one mistress and no master” did you not understand?
I have other questions:
- Why was Drogon the dragon’s mourning of his humom the only thing that felt genuine? My heart!!!
- Was the Drogon/Daenerys relationship the purest one in the whole series?
- How did the good lizard boi perceive that the Iron Throne was the root cause of his grief? That’s some “… unless they figure out how to open doors” velociraptor shit!
- Why did all these medieval-style men — all with copious amounts of blood on their hands — develop a 20th-21st Century ideal of fairness and mercy, and a love of peace, just in time for a woman to take charge?
- How did dead but intact Jaime and Cersai float to the top of the 10 tons of rubble that fell on them?
- When Grey Worm, at his queen’s command, was in take-no-prisoners mode with the Lannister troops, why would he take the queen’s assassin prisoner?
- Who would have sent for the lords and ladies of the land if Jon Snow and Tyrion were prisoners? The Dothraki? Nah. The Unsullied? Nope. Sir Davos, I presume?
- Remember how sending a raven with a message was a big deal in the early seasons, and then we didn’t see it much anymore?
- Wouldn’t these lords and ladies be walking into hostile territory? Didn’t Dany have the biggest army?
- Why do people tell Tyrion he talks too much, only for him to agree and then talk MUCH MORE?
- Tyrion doesn’t like “imp” comments much, so couldn’t he have come up with a better nickname for a new king than “Bran the Broken”?
- Wasn’t leaving Tyrion out of The Book a highlarious insult?
- Did Sam’s idea of democratic rule remind anyone else of Marty McFly inspiring Chuck Berry in Back to the Future?
- Did anyone else feel uncomfortable when everyone else laughed at Sam, but then agreed, “Yeah, as long as it’s just a few rich, white people voting, it’s cool”?
- Did anyone feel even more uncomfortable when this happened?
Deadass, I love how the FIRST thing the council did was make sure all the Black people left Westeros #GameofThrones #DemThrones pic.twitter.com/jSZ0bYwivU

- Did anyone think it got even worse after that?
So, was that a ship full of black people? #GameofThrones

- Why does Bran get treated like a great oracle when all he does is say “This is exactly how it was meant to be” AFTER something happens.
- Why does Bran remind me of a guy who I worked with at Lehman Brothers who would do the least work and get the most credit?
- For real though, this Lehman Brothers guy would step into meetings, contribute nothing, then get a bigger bonus than all the rest of us?
So Bran gets to be king, despite the fact that he just put his name on the group project and didn’t do any work. #DemThrones

- Why did Bran come into the council meeting for a hot minute, make an ostentatious announcement about finding Drogon, and lead me to expect a final shot that was a dragon’s-eye view of Westeros THAT I DID NOT GET?
- Is Bran actually based on that all-talk guy from Lehman Brothers? Does someone in the writing room know that guy?
- Why does Ser Brienne have to get treated like a modern-day woman in the corporate world? First, she can’t say or write what she really thinks and has to write a public-relations-style bio for Jaime Lannister instead of …
Brienne is better than me because I would’ve been writing in that book like… #GameOfThrones #DemThrones pic.twitter.com/j1WZlbiXvg
— Daijah Abram (@DaijahTweets) May 20, 2019
- Then the last time we see Brienne, she’s dealing with men making inappropriate sexual comments during a meeting. Can we not have ANY escapism here?
- Sansa ended up large and in charge, but didn’t she look very dictatorial at the end?
- Did she remind you of Dany in her severe outfit with her loyal servants falling to their knees as she passed by?
- I guess it’s okay for a woman to be all-powerful over one kingdom but not seven?
My designing friend Stacy has some questions about the timeline, best expressed by …
What the fuck? How long has it been? Why does Jon look like he should be talking to a volleyball named Wilson? WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING. #Got #DemThrones pic.twitter.com/m4THp5b3d4

- When Jon Snow was originally sent to Castle Black and worn to celibacy, he broke his oath and slept with Ygritte, the wildling woman, so is sending him back without supervision really a punishment?
- Didn’t Tormund say he and his people were headed home after the Battle of Winterfell, which must have been months or even years ago by this point? Why are the wildlings the welcome party at Castle Black?
- Does Tormund sometimes think of what could have been with Brienne?
- There was some of The Wall left standing?
- Stacy wants to know why Jon Snow was riding out slowly with, like, the entire population of wildlings, including children. Where we they going all together? It can’t be a scouting trip. Does he need to help them resettle their land or something? Why?
- Why did he look back at the gate in a meaningful way? Isn’t he going to return? Does the Night’s Watch live with the wildlings now?
- Again, where was my dragon’s-eye final shot?
Missandei didn’t whisper Dracarys and get beheaded for this. #DemThrones

Need something to make you feel better? The song “Crazy Lover” by my friends Christina Castle and Gangsta Boo works really well with Daenerys the Great.
Finally, is anyone else going to hug their dog and cat and cry their eyes out while rewatching the scene of Drogon trying to wake up his meowmie and ultimately flying away with her?
Is that just me?
Jazspin says
Drogon is the only one I had/have any sympathy for. That scene was heartbreaking!
WendyB says
Just thinking of it makes tears well up in my eyes!
