One of the first royalty-inspired designs I created was my Cleopatra earring style, way back in 2006.
I eventually did a matching necklace …
… and had the pleasure of seeing the earrings worn on the big screen by Kim Cattrall in Sex and the City 2.
People have always asked me for a matching bracelet, and I’m happy to say that I finally have that in the works. Here’s what it’s going to look like.
That’s just a rendering and I might still make changes to the design. Normally, I wouldn’t share a piece so early in the process — let alone make it a Jewel of the Month — but I felt inspired to blog it after visiting the Egyptian wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art this weekend. Of course, I took a close look at the jewelry on display, and I was amazed at how well my bracelet would fit in with the selection there.
This is one of the reasons I love designing jewelry — it endures not just for years or decades, but for millennia!
