In June, I shared photos of my “Carpe Diem” medallion — which boasts a 3-carat black diamond cut into the shape of a skull — but it’s worth taking another look now that expert jewelry photographer Ed Parrinello of SquareMoose has taken the official picture.
Ed’s photo even shows the tiny ruby “tongue” in the skull’s mouth! (Zoom in on my website for a closer look.)
If you’re in Columbus, Ohio, you can try on this one-of-a-kind design at Alexanders Jewelers, our local Concierge partner. Just call 614-233-6666 and request a private appointment with Shane; he’ll be showing the pendant for the next couple of weeks. If you love it, don’t hesitate because I’m not going to make another necklace like it! I will, however, be doing different designs with diamond skulls, including two pairs of earrings. Here’s one of the skull pairs I’ll be working with.
I have a design idea already, but if you have your own vision for these gems, I can work with you on making that a reality. Holla at me at info at wendybrandes dot com to inquire or, if you’re in Columbus, call Shane. He works with me on custom pieces as well as selling my own designs.
My goal right now is to do five to 10 designs with black-diamond skulls — without ever repeating a look.
