Today’s video is the first of a series: I’m answering frequently asked questions about buying and caring for vintage clothing, from the customer’s perspective.
To see more photos of the vintage Ossie Clark dress I’m wearing in the video, check out yesterday’s post.
If you’d like to ask me some questions about vintage — or about jewelry! — you can leave a comment here or on the video.

No pictures of your closet? Aw – that’s okay – I have my imagination! I have had pretty good luck with vintage clothes and like you, I don’t wash them if I can help it. Once in a while, I’ll wash a piece from the 60s or 70s if it’s polyester, but I have ruined a few pieces. Ah well – I never do it unless I’m willing to lose the item altogether. I think a lot of people can’t get past the “ick” factor of wearing old clothing.
Awesome video, Wendy!

It’s really quite risky — I didn’t know how much the fabric could change over the decades until I had a disaster!
