Check out the New York Times story called “South Korea, Where Boys Were King, Revalues Its Girls.” This story caught my eye because it’s about Korea, one of my obsessions. It’s also good news for women. But what really intrigued me is the way it shows how patriarchal traditions damage a society and how people can benefit from casting off these dysfunctional, outdated behaviors. A little food for thought for anyone who is of the “it’s always been this way/it’s our culture” mindset.

I saw that article, too (I love the Times!). Great news for women, yes? Esp. for us Asian women.
I was esp. startled at the number of abortions women have in these countries simply because they were having women. So tragic. Just think of what these people were missing.

I know! And as the gender gap grows, women get treated worse and worse!

I have a confession to make – you commented on a couple of my posts and I never responded because I saw the name of your blog and instantly thought it was some sort of jewelry promotion…But I finally checked it out and I have to say that I love it! Apologies for not reading it before, and I’ll definitely be adding it to my list of favorites soon.

it’s so sad that the mindset is still like that in some places…
But I believe it’s getting better.

This title is going to bring the wrong kind of attention to your site. But you knew that.
Also, if China’s any indication, these societies get their comeuppance in like 40 years when their sons won’t take care of them in their old age like their daughters would have.
