I got a pair of short, low-heeled boots in Paris this summer — a “Never Is the Next New Thing™” purchase for me — and now there are more decorated versions of the style catching my eye.
These $650 daisy-adorned boots by Red Valentino in the Bergdorf Goodman catalog are tough but sweet.
I’m amused by the fact that these would match my crazy daisy sunglasses.
I could go all out and wear the boots and shades with my 18K-gold-and-diamond Mia scent-locket ring, which was inspired by Mia Farrow as Daisy in the 1974 movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
That would be fun, but these Saint Laurent “Ranger” boots — also in the Bergdorf’s catalog for $2,395 — are more my style.
Just when I thought there was nothing new that shoe designers could do with studs and spikes! Love these.

oh man, I have all the boots I need but now I am craving daisies. Love your shades.

I don’t need boots either but there are so many nice ones out now 😀

I like that you’re getting into flat boots/comfy shoes! #thatisyourage

Um, did you just tell me I got a pair of flat boots because I’m old? I’ll throw them out then. 😛
(I got ’em because they looked hot on all the 20-somethings.)

While these are both gorgeous (I saw the YSL boots in the Bergdorf’s catalog too and admit I drooled a little) I don’t know that I could bring myself to purchase them having been part of the whole punk scene. We used to buy your standard engineer boots & do them up ourselves with all kinds of chains & studs, I still have bootstraps from back then that are jeweled! I used to love mixing them with chains & spikes! Funny I’ve been thinking about getting another pair again and doing them up myself, so much fun! XXX

You should do it!
