I found another 1980s photo of me wearing my friend Jim’s turquoise leather jacket (by the way, I’m STILL looking for the turquoise jacket of my dreams after returning a discolored one.) This photo was taken indoors right before or after the outdoor photo post here was taken.
The fact that there is more than one photo from that day says a lot about how much I adored Jim’s jacket. We were using real film in cameras back then, so we couldn’t take a million pictures of the same outfit like we do digitally. I was obviously extra-determined to properly immortalize this look.
I’m glad I used the extra film because I was able to spot a detail that got lost in the outdoor shot. In my right ear (on your left), I’m wearing one of my then-favorite single earrings … one that I still have! I posted a picture of it last year.
For some reason, I get a thrill when I see something I still have in nearly 30-year-old photos. It’s like, “Oh, it really happened!”

If I ever spot a turquoise leather jacket on my travels, I am buying it for you! Such a classic.
I have a snake and spider ring that I’ve had for close to 30 years – one or two of the pictures of my teen self shows them. Dang, I’m old.

If you’re old, I’m old. Therefore, you are not old.

Neiman Marcua has been sporting some cute colored leather jackets over the years. In a moment of insanity, I bought a purple one years ago–I won’t wear it because I feel like a pimp. I have a ton of jewelry from the 1980s so I feel really old!

*Neiman Marcus* sorry!

I LOVE Throwback Thursdays and photographic evidence of the artifacts in situ -and absolutely there had to have been a reason if we took multiple photos!
Have you seen this jacket? http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=prabal+gurung+target+leather+jacket&_sacat=0&_from=R40
