The eBay Pick of the Day Is Ossie

I found an amazing vintage Ossie Clark dress on eBay. Well, it’s really the dress’s background story that I loved, though the dress is great too! The seller (who has 100% positive feedback) says she bought the dress from the Quorum boutique and wore it on her wedding day in 1973. She says, “My best friend worked as a ‘style and fabric finder’ for Ossie and insisted that I wear no other designer!”

    I’m the Bride in yesterday’s Pick of the Day…Ossie.

    Thank U all for soooo much for all the attention and compliments. I’m over the moon & truly delighted.

    I will re-list at a LOWER PRICE… WENDY, (thanks) so that someone else can share my joy.

    In those heady days, I was considered “chubby” and that dress is a US size 8-10. Most Ossie’s are US size 0-6….hence the high price…U can really wear it!

    My BFF(in Celia B print)had enough Ossies to make your head spin…that fire-engine Red maxi coat,
    yellow mutton sleeve swing blouse, tons & tons of little black dresses… I used to borrow them to copy the patterns…as my Mom taught me to sew the Ossie way( see http://www.makingthemodernworld.uk.org/everydaylife)by turning dresses inside out and making patterns from them.

    In the 70’s Bianca Jagger was our chief style Icon…so we tried to copy her…recession style.

    I’m truly honored, amazed & humbled that my style
    has indured.

    Alas, poor Ossie I LOVE HIM…wish I knew he was down and out…I would have personally invited him to my home ( I lived in the Bahamas then).
