One of my favorite things about this story is the Facebook message I got in response from former blogger Hillary of byhillary. She wrote, “My dad is a carpenter and for him dressed up is a chambray shirt and jeans without rips. He has been rocking the denim on denim look his entire life. I told him recently that he was in style again. He replied, ‘I’ve never been out of style.'” Ha! I love that kind of confidence.

I can’t get into the denim-on-denim look for myself, but I always experience joy when I see others do it well.
When I was in college, I briefly dated a guy who wore a denim jacket with tight Levi’s. He had long hair. Occasionally, he’d mow the lawn wearing shorts and ’70s zipper boots. But I digress. NO, I don’t know why I dated him, but he mocked himself with the term “Denim King” whenever he went D-on-D, and I respect him for that.
