I like to watch my blog traffic in real-time on Feedjit. I’m often amazed by similar Google search terms entered by people in far-flung places.
Yesterday, someone in Las Vegas was searching for information on Angelina Jolie’s jawline. Minutes later, a similar search term entered in Bangalore, India, also led to my blog. A search for “acquoboots” was generated in England, 20 minutes after a person in Italy Googled “aquo boots.” This happens at least once a day. Sometimes the reason is obvious — a person, place or thing is in the news. Other times, it’s a mystery.
For the record, if you want to know what I think of Angelina Jolie’s jawline, click here. If you want to look at a hot chick in boots, click here.
UPDATED SEPT. 21, 2011, TO ADD: Today the hot search term is “Old Gregg costume.” People in Indiana, Wisconsin and a few other states are looking for Halloween ideas. I’m happy to let them know that all they need is green paint, a tutu and a glowing mangina.

I love SEO! Lately I’ve been getting hits for people searching for Crystal Renn being skinny only to be connected to my post where I ranted about how people need to leave her the F alone. And then there are people who are looking up information about being homesick are directed to the post I wrote about curing homesick blues. Blogging iz fun

It’s pretty amusing what turns up. Yesterday I got “guy put hand inside her jeans and plays with her.” How those search words found my blog I’ll never know!
