I’ve mentioned my love for the animated series Family Guy before. On one episode, Peter Griffin gets his own segment on the local news called “What Really Grinds My Gears.” Take a look.
The incest/period portion of that clip isn’t relevant to my post today. I don’t even have a brother, for God’s sake! You people and your perverted minds. I love you anyway. But I’ll tell you what really grinds my gears. A designer named Pam Hogg. She specializes in designing shiny catsuits best worn by pop stars and celebrity spawn.

What bothers me is that gorgeous blogger and fashion adventurer Susie Bubble boldly modeled some of the Hogg catsuits for a fun post — only to have Hogg’s people complain that it was “bad publicity.” Susie, being the nice person that she is, took the original post down. I, being the bitch that I am, say, “Welcome to the world of bad publicity, Pam Hogg!”
I also want to say to you peeps that there are a lot of designers who are thrilled by your enthusiasm for their work. I am always honored when customers or admirers post photos of my jewelry. I started a fan page on Facebook just to share those pictures. Basically as long as you’re not stealing my designs — or making off with one of my rings (that can only be forgiven once, Britney) — take as many pictures as you like and let the world know how awesome I am! I know my designing friends Christian Francis Roth and Zang Toi feel the same way. So if you’re going to spend your money, spend it with those of us who appreciate your fine asses! Do we have a deal? I think we have a deal! Just don’t buy stuff, wear it and return it. Now THAT will piss me off.
UPDATED TO ADD: Racked.com posted on the topic with two of Susie’s photos. Susie looks like a beautiful robot, no? My robotic Hogan shoes would complete the look.

totally agree! I cannot believe what happened between pam hogg and susie and I was actually tempted to buy one of her outrageous designs but now I am just totally turned off and she will not see a penny from me. I just think its so hypocritical, no..ironic really, that her label is supposed to represent the mistfits/freedom/rebellion/punk attitudes yet she acted exactly the opposite when it came to how her work was represented. She acted like a corporate CEO trying to control/maintain a false image. I don't understand what her brand is about anymore and its quite sad..really. Also I love that button blazer I have the same image saved in my inspiration folder!

I am absolufuckingtely disgusted with Pam Hogg's (or her PR group's) treatment of Susie. Susie is adorable and would have generated more positive press for the hoggster had she reacted appropriately.
I, like so many others was quite mad to read about this too. Seems like Hogg's PR need to do some research on E-marketing pronto. Susie introduced me to Hogg and also managed to look awesome in them as opposed to Peaches Geldof. Rant over.

I heard about this but never saw the pictures of her in it. All I can say is, are you kidding me? Susie looks fabulous in that! Who even knew who this Hogg lady was before Susie Bubble!

There is some definite grand irony here for sure. They didn't want bad publicity… whoops! Susie looks absolutely adorable and I love spandex. What a shame…
I hate these jumpsuits anyway, they should be happy anyone wanted to wear them. And what did Heather Mills want to buy? A nameplate necklace with 'crazy'????

Just to play devil's advocate here cause no one else is….
I kind of understand why the designer would be annoyed. I own a shop and there is nothing more annoying and time wasting than girls trying on clothing that they already know they don't want to buy just to "have fun" and "see what it looks like." Business is business, if expensive items get tried on repeatedly, they can get damaged and become unsellable.
That being said, those comments about Susie's looks are sickening and totally uncalled for.
Iron Chic, I did consider that but they didn't complain about Susie in the store..plus she isn't a teenager running around, tearing things up and just having fun. She's a known blogger who wrote a post that made those silly leotards seem a lot more chic than they really are. Those leotards, incidentally, retail for less than many of my pieces cost, and I have had to deal with customers or would-be customers or borrowers or whomever damaging my goods/wasting my time/etc. That's part of doing business. I would be grateful for a post like the one Susie did. Who knows — someone might have seen the original post and bought some of that crap and then it would have paid off in spades. But the Hogg bitch blew that opportunity.
Yeah, I agree that the designer didn't need to make such a big deal over those gimmicky C3P0's. Susie does have a lot of readers and influence…Maybe Pammy should make nice and send her a free suit!

In the strange event I was in this situation (because I can't imagine what would make me yell at someone to take a positive item about me offline) I would definitely send the free goods.
I read Susie's post when she originally blogged about Pam Hogg. After Susie brought Pam Hogg to my attention, I started to notice photos of young London socialites in the same catsuits. Pam Hogg should be paying Susie, not insulting her! Susie is adorable and her humor and cute haircut make the ugly catsuit work. There is an article in the LA Times today about how important fashion bloggers are to stores and designers. Pay attention Pam! Pam Hogg has started a nice campaign to destroy her own name by not appreciating that bloggers like Susie Bubble have a strong and fierce following. Will any celeb who cares about their image ever wear a Pam Hogg design now?

i'm with you, this will practicall go down in history as one of the worst and most unnecessary moves PR could make! susie could generate more good vibes than the likes of the london it girls could as no one actualy really likes them!
