Every time I plan to make a big blogging comeback, grief gets in the way. Last year, it was the loss of my gorgeous rapper friend Gangsta Boo. This year, it’s been the horrific genocide of the Palestinian people. If you follow me on Instagram, you’re aware of my sentiments and activism related to Gaza and the West Bank. Now, as I prepared to dive into this blogversary post, I find I’m having a technical problem related to website security – adding links to this post is impossible and the blog isn’t even accessible from most browsers. I’ll have to deal with that tomorrow. But I’m leaving this as kind of a “placeholder” post to say I’m still here. And that seems appropriate because my very first post on July 23, 2007, was a placeholder that said I probably wouldn’t be blogging much. I immediately proved myself wrong by blogging up a storm. It would be nice to follow that same pattern now! Wish me luck!

I was just thinking of you yesterday, as I wore a fistful of your rings. I’m still around – still blogging – but considering Substack for more in-depth writing.
The world is an often-horrific place. But there are still good people out there, Wendy. <3

Ugh, can you believe after months I have not figured out my blog’s SSL problem, so I can rarely log in? Obviously I haven’t been very motivated to deal with it because it’s hard to think what I’m going to write about. There are so many times I just want to tell a fashion story for a hot minute and then reality intrudes! I definitely have to find someone to give me some tech assistance with this and a number of other things!
