There hasn’t been a shoe that’s interested me in quite a while, but this Dior caught my eye because it reminds me of a Peter Fox style I had in the 1980s.
You can just barely make out those Peter Fox shoes against my crazy striped tights in this poorly lit photo from 1986.
Madonna wore lace-up booties, so I did too! I got those shoes in high school and they were a big splurge. Even though my foot grew later, I kept them for years until I reluctantly faced facts and gave them away. Honestly, I wish I still had them because they were such a great 1980s fashion artifact.
Speaking of ’80s artifacts of the shoe variety, Anne Klein Couture used to do fabulous boots, and I’m still searching for a pair of the brand’s famous zipper boots.
This spandex thigh-high pair was another well-known Anne Klein Couture boot style, and I’m seriously tempted by this listing on Etsy.
My heart belongs to the zipper boots though!

Fox is of the duo Fox and Fluevog – and Fluevog is still making the most funky shoes ever (I am a huge fan, have had more than 30 pairs over the years). Check their sales, they have silver thigh-highs!

Funny, I know about the Fluevog connection and I was looking at vintage Fluevog but for some reason not the up-to-date website?! Going there right meow!
