I was amazed when two beautiful flower arrangements arrived today, sent by my Instagram cat friends who wished to honor my beloved Purrkoy. Be sure to click through the Instagram slideshow to see how many people got together to do this.
As I said in the caption of that Instagram post, I’ve often told people that “Catstagram” is a true bright spot in my life. It’s one of the rare spaces on social media — or anywhere, really — and find pretty much nothing but love. I thought my “babycat” PK did a fine job of providing a little levity to his thousands of followers, but it’s truly gratifying to see how much he meant to them. I believe that spreading a bit of happiness around is what makes life worth living, so it seems that PK’s four years on this earth were well spent.
I usually try to post a new YouTube video on Wednesdays, but today I will rerun one from earlier this year, in which I discussed how I became obsessed with Anne Boleyn and Tudor history in the 1970s … all of which led to naming a kitty “Purrkoy” in 2014.
Tune in next week for a new video. And thank you again for all the love shown to me, my family, and a funny little cat.
