I’ve written plenty about my love of redesigning old jewelry — including engagement rings. Once in a while, I’ll redesign clothes, which is how I wound up in a completely redesigned outfit last Saturday.
I didn’t get to take a proper outfit photo due to an uncharged camera, so we’ll have to make due with this torso selfie.
The top by L.A.M.B. was originally a dress. I got it in 2009, and when I realized my friend Melissa had the same one, we went out on the town dressed like twins.
The shorts were full-length jeans. I think I got them in 2008.
Finally, the opals in my lariat necklace were originally accent stones in my mother’s big opal cocktail ring. That ring was redesigned into two necklaces …
… and then I converted those necklaces into a lariat, a ring, and a pair of stud earrings.
I didn’t wear this all together on purpose. It just happened. When I realized it, I was a little disappointed that my silver 2014 Opening Ceremony shoes didn’t fit the theme. I regretted having that thought yesterday, when a strap on those shoes snapped in a bad way.
I guess I’m about to find out if a shoe can be redesigned too!
