Before it got hot here in New York City, I took some outfit pictures of my hairy, purple jacket from Versace’s fall 2004 collection. My right-hand woman Eryn and I were on our way to a meeting at a Mexican restaurant called La Esquina, aka The Corner — you can see it behind me in the photo.
What Wendy Wore
Jacket: Versace (2004)
T-shirt: Splendid
Jeans: Madewell (2016)
Boots: Celine (pre-2007, recently seen here)
Purse: Louis Vuitton (2001, recently seen here)
This jacket isn’t one of those pieces that I only wear once every seven years. I wear it all the time.
I even wore this jacket for my driver’s license photo, so I was disappointed when New York switched from color photos to black-and-white. Monochrome doesn’t do my jacket justice!
Despite frequent wear, I’ve never taken any ultra-close-up detail photos, so Eryn did. You can practically feel the texture in this picture, which includes a fancy button — the kind of button you’re really scared to lose. I might have one spare around after all these years, but that’s it.
I was wearing the combination of necklaces that I often layer together. We call this a #neckmess.
Eryn always likes to get a solo shot of my shoes. Don’t these look great for being at least 10 years old?
I’ll be talking about buying extremely distinctive clothes, like this jacket, in tomorrow’s YouTube video. Don’t miss it!
