I’m delighted to be nominated in the design category for the Women’s Jewelry Association’s 2017 Awards for Excellence! This is the second year in a row that I’ve been nominated. Thank you, WJA!
These awards have always recognized women in the jewelry and watch industries “who have demonstrated significant achievements throughout their careers.” This year, new criteria were added, as I just learned from the WJA press release, which quotes longtime jewelry journalist and WJA Awards and Ballots Chair Jennifer Heebner:
“An eligible nominee must have a reputation for integrity, honesty, high ethical standards, and credibility, according to the new WJA Awards for Excellence criteria. She also must devote time and effort to help women in the jewelry industry excel.”
Those are great standards to make an official part of the awards process and now I’m even more honored to be a part of it all. Congratulations to the other designers, Deirdre Featherstone; Annie Koenig; and Pippa Small. I’m also excited for my friends nominated in other categories. Those include editorial nominees Brecken Branstrator, Barbara Palumbo, and Severine Ferrari, as well as Melissa Quick in the independent retail category and Megan Whitmire in the marketing and communications category. Looking forward to seeing them all at the awards dinner next month!
