In this week’s YouTube video, I talk about the 1989 dress that you saw in yesterday’s post, as well as some other ’80s pieces.
That gets me into talking about slow fashion and homegrown vintage. I like keeping my clothes forever (or at least until they fall apart or don’t fit anymore). I encourage other people to hold onto their good things too, because unless you’re an actress doing press for a new movie, you don’t need a new outfit for every event. Who cares if you wear the same dress to the holiday party every year? If it’s a fabulous dress and you feel confident in it, keep doing you.
One bonus of repeating outfits is that your friends will be able to find you in a crowd. For instance, everyone in my life knows what I wear on the 4th of July. Just look for the sailor pants!
Anyway, here’s the video.
If you have any questions about vintage clothes (or my jewelry designs), leave them in the comments here, because I’m doing a couple of FAQ videos in which I can answer those. And subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss anything!

Yay for sustainable clothes wearing !!! I love my clothes….my old friends that look newish. I know they won’t betray me. Make me feel uncomfortable. Turn out to be of false quality. Less heartache.

Exactly! Like if you wear a brand-new dress to an important event, who knows how it’s going to behave? You spend all night tugging at it! If I wear my old dress that I’ve worn to numerous similar events, I can relax!
