The last time I did a holiday/birthday wish list — at my right-hand woman Eryn’s behest — was in 2014. That one was inspired by Gwen Stefani’s 2005 video for “Cool.” Looking back at the list, I am struck by a bad case of non-buyer’s remorse: I still yearn for that Junya Watanabe denim skirt!
I didn’t go on the luxurious Italian vacation either, now that I think of it!
When Eryn asked for this year’s wish list, I had a much more serious theme in mind. I’m planning to attend the Women’s March on Washington on January 21 so my list is all about preparing for crowds, cold weather, and representing #NASTY women everywhere.
- This long-sleeve “I Know My Rights” t-shirt is available from the ACLU. It’s a good layering item and reminder of why we are marching.
- I’ve got to wear my own BeyoncĂ©-inspired SLAY earrings. They’re on my website in silver, but now I’m thinking I should whip up a pair in 18K gold.
- At a New York protest last month, someone gave me a copy of the Constitution, so I’m going to buy a bundle from the ACLU to pay it forward while in Washington.
- These socks not only tell us what we already know, “WILD WOMEN WIN,” but our friends over at the Outrage are donating 15% of each purchase to the U.N. Women’s fund.
- Being a gold-obsessed jewelry designer, I’m tempted by these limited-edition, gold-trimmed Timberland boots. They’re waterproof, too.
- An all-day march in January calls for a warm coat — I’ve been contemplating Canada Goose.
- Of course, I’ll have my NASTY necklace on. Sterling silver is pictured here, but the 18K yellow gold NASTY necklace is now on the website too. (Both the silver and gold necklaces include a donation to Planned Parenthood in the buyer’s honor.)
Stay tuned for Eryn’s wish list, coming next week.

You are going to be so warm, not to mention the most stylish, at the march!!

Wonderful wish list! If you get those boots make sure to wear them in well. Last time I had Timberlands I had massive blisters the first three times I wore them, until they were broken in. Thank you for representing those of us who can’t make it to DC. We’ll be there in spirit. I’m going to be at the Chicago march and will be thinking of all of you in DC. #RESIST

I know, I am always dubious about something like Timberlands as far as foot comfort goes. I have a tall pair that I like but isn’t suitable for an all-day thing. Once you broke yours in, were they comfortable?
I’m excited that so many people I know are going to local marches!

My Timberlands were never truly broken in, like yours. I could never wear them all day, especially not walking. The leather is too stiff and unyielding, IMO. Never bought another pair again. Instead, I found a Canadian company that make amazing weather/ water proof and winter boots in leather and have bought two pairs from them in the last 20 years. Those have lasted forever and you can walk in them for days.
I know so many people that are going to DC for the march! It’s phenomenal that we’re all coming together for this.

What’s your boot recommendation?! I’m up for anything!

I love my Blondo’s for winter so much so that I own two different pairs. They’re waterproof with sealed seems. Didn’t need much breaking in, not as heavy as the Timberlands. I don’t know what their quality is like these days since the last time I bought a pair (which I still wear) was 10+ years ago. I might do some research on La Canadienne and Pajar next time I’m in the market for well made Canadian winter boots.
