For Throwback Thursday, here’s a May June 1996 photo of my first Pekingese, Mr. Chubbs, shortly after I brought him home from the pound and cut his long matted hair off. There was a cute dog under there!
I think Chubbs looks a little bewildered by the recent changes in his life, not to mention that carpet.
I had Mr. Chubbs until May 2006, when he had to be put down due to a variety of age-related ailments. MrB and I made a donation to the ASPCA for a plaque in Chubbs’s memory, and when I went there to see the plaque a month later, I went home with Henry, my second Pekingese. I didn’t expect to get another dog that soon, but I can’t resist a flat-faced dog with a ton of health problems!
Click here for my old post explaining how Mr. Chubbs wound up walking down the aisle at my wedding in 2001.

What a handsome little man, and how great that you adopted him. Lucky lucky doggies to get you and Mr. B!
