Henry the Pekingese was adopted from the ASPCA in June 2006.
He left this world this morning, released from his many ailments by his people.

a dog, and you’ve had your day;

So sorry for your loss of your best buddy. He seemed like a champ. hugs from Boston, jess & claudine petunia
βAnd it is exceedingly short, his galloping life. Dogs die so soon. I have my stories of that grief, no doubt many of you do also. It is almost a failure of will, a failure of love, to let them grow oldβor so it feels. We would do anything to keep them with us, and to keep them young. The one gift we cannot give.β

Oh Wendy and Paul,
We’re so terribly sorry to hear the news. This has been such a tough year in the pet families. Henry was such a sweetie all the times I met him. Even with his little paw, he was still such a nice boy.
We’ll be sad we won’t get to see him again and are sending you all all of our love.

Thanks, Tony!
I’m thinking of you. Bye sweet Henry.

Henry, my sweet, I could fill a book with your cute and funny stories. I just know you’re in doggy heaven stealing everyone’s food. Unlimited treats and snoozin π You’ll always be in my heart, little lovie. Aunt Stacy xxxxxoooo
He wuvved his Aunt Stacy.
Henry was an amazing little guy. Some of my favorite things about him:
1. He was a great ottoman
2. He was enthusiastic about his role as an ottoman
3. He was proud of his snaggletooth
4. He wore foot bandages with style and grace
5. He also wore bows without compromising his masculinity
6. He doted on Gigi without question
7. He was great at playing dumb
8. He was actually very sneaky
9. He always posed well for the camera
10. I’m not a HUGE fan of dogs, but this guy, he was basically a cat, which made him awesome.
My thoughts are with you, and I miss him too.
xxx
This made me so happy!

My deepest condolences on the loss of your lovely little sweetheart Henry. It is a hard, brave thing to let them go when it is time. May your fond memories of him bring you some comfort.
Sending you cyber kleenexes and hugs.
Thanks, Louise.
Oh no, so sorry to hear this. But at least he isn’t suffering anymore. Rest in doggy heaven Henry!

Losing a beloved dog is never easy. I hate to say this but when my mother died, I went back to work as soon as she was buried. When my rabbit died, I couldn’t function for a month. Forgot to take my pills and got pregnant!
I love my mother more than my rabbit, okay. But my rabbit loved ME and me alone, unconditionally. I will never ever have that from any other creature on this planet. That’s why when she died, I was shattered.
Pets are true love. The tightest hugs to you, dear Wendy.
Oh my goodness, you know the old joke about bunnies and pregnancy tests!??
What you say about love and pets is spot-on, plus having to always make all the decisions for the pets all their lives … all those years I was always trying to figure out the right thing to do for Henry and then having to make this final decision for him. It’s very hard π
Aw, Wendy, I am so sorry to hear about your dear Henry! They may be small, but they leave a huge hole in our lives when they leave us. I picture Henry romping with my dear Inigo.
Thank you, Sheila!
That is such a cute photo of him. He was lucky to have you! So so sorry!
I’m so sorry, and send both humans and animals my sincere condolences. xxx
Thank you, Miss C!
Oh, Wendy. I’m so sorry. Losing a pet really is like losing a member of the family; it’s just so hard. Hugs!
Thanks, Gracey!
Oh, Wendy! I’m so sad to hear about your dear little Henry. We’re holding you in the light.
Thank you xoxo
So very, very sorry for the loss of your furbaby. Never fair how short our pets’ lives are in comparison to how much joy and love they bring to our lives.
He was a special little guy.
Oh Wendy. Just saw this now and my heart broke for you. Sending lots of love your way.
Thank you so much. I miss him!
