Last week, I went to Chicago to see my designing friend Stacy Lomman‘s collection presented on the runway for the Gold Coast Fashion Award Show for the second year in a row. More than 1,000 people attend the event, which is a fundraiser for the Children’s Service Board, an affiliated organization of the Anne & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. A very worthy cause!
Here’s how Stacy’s collection looked on the giant video screen at the Hilton Chicago and Towers.
Naturally, Stacy and I both wore Stacy Lomman originals. I wore the red peplum dress that Stacy made me for the Fashion Group International Awards in 2012. I wear this dress a lot!
The awards are perfectly timed for me. My sister, Terri Berry, lives in a Chicago suburb and both my niece and nephew have their birthdays around this time.
This time, my sister squeezed in a surprise birthday party for her husband Tim in between the kiddie celebrations. He was surprised!
I wasn’t too pleased with what I wound up wearing, but there was cake and that’s what’s important!
What Wendy Wore
