Big thanks to gorgeous blogger Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, who wrote about my emoji stud earrings today. She said:
“I mean, feeling like F the world? There is an earring for that. Need to be reminded that everything is okay? You guessed it, there is an earring for that!“
Thanks also to Hearty, where Catherine blogged about the emoji designs today, noting that, “A pair of these would make the perfect gift for any child of the internet.”
And I’m amazed that I made it onto the Spanish financial daily website elEconomista. Agustín Velasco spotted the emoji studs on Style.com and interviewed me for elEconomista’s fashion blog, Fondo de Armario. Check it out here if you’re fluent in Spanish or simply enjoy the insanity that is Google Translate (as I do). Actually, you’ll never have to ask Google Translate for the Spanish version of “Go hard or go home” now, because Agustín helpfully translated that expression in the last sentence of the story.
Here are the direct links to all three stories:
A giant loving cat emoji goes out to Marie, Catherine and Agustín.

Stay tuned for more emoji designs next month!
UPDATED TO ADD: And here’s a Russian blog post on the emoji earrings. I like that Google Translate says, “The new line of jewelry by Wendy Brandes includes recreation symbols of approval, greeting signs of reconciliation, harmony and even the middle finger.”
Patti @ NotDeadYet Style says
love this: “and even the middle finger”. Bury the lede.
Srsly, this line is fabulous!

I had MrB reading a post before I published it recently …can’t remember which one, but whatever I referred to in the title got mentioned about five paragraphs in. I said to him, “I love burying the lede!” Things you can do on blogs that you can’t do in newspapers: yay!

Just got mine yesterday and they are fabulous! Got them for my daughter, who is an emoji queen, but she has to wait until her birthday to get them!! I can’t wait because she will LOVE them and her friends will go nuts over them too!
WendyB says
Glad they arrived safely! And you have amazing self-control…it’s so hard for me to wait to give gifts!

My mother (who was a very strict, somewhat prim woman) had a necklace that said OH SHIT. She wore it backward and would flip it around to indicate her … thoughts as needed.
Trying to figure out the emoji version of this. Is it the middle finger followed by the ok sign (using the European interpretation of the ok sign, please let me not be the only person who thought of this) or are you going to do a version of the emoji poop?
Because, you know, replicating her necklace is the best way to honor mom (I still might have the necklace somewhere, not sure), especially for Mother’s Day.
WendyB says
That is a FABULOUS story. Now I wish I knew your mom! You must see if you still have the necklace! Or else I’ll make one for you in my font.
Everyone is asking me about the emoji poop. LOL.
Marguerite/Chicspace says
Hers was faux gold and was set up as
OH
SHIT
in a caveman looking font (or more Monty Python?).
I’m vacillating between middle finger/ok as a necklace or something honoring hers (maybe OH emoji poop? this is growing on me 🙂 ) in silver since I pretty much only wear silver.
WendyB says
Lord, people are just gonna insist I do a poop design 😀
