My Jewel of the Month for July was Lori Kadezabek‘s unusual custom engagement ring.

Lori and her fella, Brian “Roley” Riolo, got married on November 10. This week, Lori emailed me a photo from her wedding with the note “I uploaded a pic to Facebook and I am getting shout-outs on how amazing my ring looks and I AGREE!!” I asked her if I could share the picture with y’all and she agreed.

Then she sent me more photos — apparently the ring was a big hit with Noelle Soroka Photography.

The white-sapphire-and-diamond ring in a two-toned gold setting is one of my favorite custom pieces. It was fun to design for a bride with non-traditional taste and know that I got it exactly right. Lori emailed me this summer to say, “I cannot even tell you how many peeps are loving my ring! They think it’s the coolest thing ever, they’ve never seen anything like this before, and it’s so perfectly ‘me.'”

I’m going to need to ask Lori about the cute jacket she’s wearing here. I love the dress too, and the lace cuffs are bridal rock ‘n’ roll.

I’m blown away that I made the cover of this special wedding edition of US Magazine. Um, if I added this to my website’s press page, do you think anyone would complain?

Dress is BCBGMaxAzria and the cuffs were designed from scratch, had my seamstress make for me (she kicks butt… Susanna’s Bridal in Hoboken). Funny you should ask about the “cute jacket” — it was totally a last minute grab from none-other than TARGET!! The children’s section too LOL! I honestly didn’t think about cold November weather until we spent the week during Sandy, powerless (in Hoboken), charging our phones outside on stoops for hours – freezing – and thought to myself I am DEF going to need a jacket for the wedding, and I only have a few days left… I’m screwed. Couple days later we’re walking thru Target shopping for random things and my friend saw it in the kids section and even though I thought she was joking I tried it on and it was perf!
Oh, and the “cover” of the US Weekly is actually a 20-page full magazine dedicated to us and our family & friends… was super fun to create! I’ll have to send you a PDF of the full issue, you’ll get a kick… and if anyone wants one for their own wedding or shower let me know! I’ll have to send you the link to the website for them once it’s finished, work in progress as we speak :))
Please tell Lori that I am ‘borrowing’ this custom magazine concept for my future wedding! Great post!

Wendy…that ring is so fabulous. I totally thought the cover of US was real btw! So, I head over to Broken English (I hate you now) and found a ring that I LOVE and will be saving the rest of my life for! That gold band with black diamonds….dying over here. I am all about black diamonds. And, I have been looking for a right hand band. At least you have given me a goal. It’s okay that I’ll be in the nursing home when I can afford it! 😉
