I’m not much of a sports fan, but there are a few athletes who impress me. One is basketball Hall-of-Famer Walt “Clyde” Frazier, who is one of my official style icons. Now I’ve added hockey great Wayne Gretzky to my list of people who give good advice. I was struck by one of his classic quotes the other day:
“I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.”
Seems like that worked out well for him, right?
Then gorgeous blogger Audi of Fashion for Nerds pointed out this one:
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Time to stop living in the past and take risks! With Wayne Gretzky as my life coach, I’m sure to wind up swinging a hockey stick in a pool for a Nickelback video sooner rather than later.
And that looks like a lot of fun to me!

I love you even more now because you posted a Wayne Gretzky quote on your blog. No wonder we are friends.

Seems like the world is set to empower me today! It’s definitely true, you never get anywhere unless you try.
Even more ironic? My anti-spam word? “Speak up”
Yeah, I think I need to go ..do something.

Even I’ve heard of Wayne Gretzky! I need a life coach at the moment as well, or at least one of those time-management gurus.

Maybe we should hang out at more sporting events…

Ahh, sage words from our philosopher king. A shocking four years ago I blogged about the time I followed Wayne Gretzky and his then-fiancee Janet Jones around a fancy Toronto department store. And this time the puck stopped in Krizia.
