In case you missed it earlier this week, there’s a big, beautiful photo of my Marie Antoinette ring on InStyle.com.
I was happy that Marion Fasel, the contributing editor for fine jewelry, described the ways in which the story of Marie Antoinette inspired my design. Thanks, Marion!
You might have already figured out that the Marie Antoinette is one of my favorite pieces because it’s in the header of this blog.
My gorgeous friend Alyssa modeled the ring on New Year’s Eve so you can see how it looks in real life. She’s wearing it next to an onyx ring she bought from me several years ago.
Check out Alyssa’s of-the-moment nail polish! Have you gone for gray nails?
UPDATED TO ADD: These nails can definitely be described as “cement.” I think cement nails are better than cement dresses.
Congratulations!!
I am never ‘of the moment’ so my nails are deep purple right now…
I like silver, not sure if I’m on board with grey yet.
I had grey nails last week. But they chipped so now I’m wearing a light pink. The previous week was fuchsia and I think next week will be white. My nails rarely look decent so I’m trying to keep them in good shape and am enjoying wearing polish on them.
You know I LOVE the big ring. And those two rings on that gorgeous hand, with the great nail polish – well, it’s making me covetous.
Great job on the mag profile, W.
I absolutely adore this setting. Its my fav setting out of all the rings, and when I figure out what I want to do with all those little bits and bobs I’m sure I’m going to try and get you to customize it and work it into the design. Something about it intrigues me so — I think the juxtaposition of the staggering beauty of the stones with the intertwining snake effect and claw-like prongs are what draws me in.

Love love love that ring! Congrats on the press!
I’ve been doing strange taupe colors lately (only do my toes) but love the grey!
oh I love those rings! gorgeous. I love the nail polish, too.
congrats on the magazine profile.
xoxo
Congrats Wendy!
Talk about your high/low all in one issue…we get your gorgeous Marie Antoinette ring and the Rachel Zoe jewelry collection for QVC!
Your ring looks great in the feature, and here, on your friend’s hand! I love how huge the photo was on InStyle.com
No gray nails yet for me; I prefer metallics, so it looks like I have a car paint job on my nails!
i loooooove that ring!!!!!!!! it’s so beautiful. those grey nails are amazing, i’d love to know what polish that is (haha..polish-addict hazard :D)
Gorgeous dear and how awesome to have that picked by In Style! I love the marriage of beauty and tragedy (I thought the thorns were actually flames too). Aahh if only that money tree was working a little harder for me…
Oh my goodness!!!! WB! That is so awesome. Wow! But, you know, I am not surprised…your jewelry is so beautiful and chic.
My favorite thing about your creations is that someone (like a fabulous movie star) can wear them with an outfit which is trendy and look amazing in any year, any season, any trend, any style, any age. Twenty year old starlet or sixty year old art doyenne…it’s all good. I mean it.
congratulations!! that ring kicks some serious ass. the colors you used are amazing! i haven’t done grey but i have done taupe. does that count? you know how good i am with colors and descriptions. (=;

I have been wearing grey polish as my ‘go to” colour for about 3 years now. LOVE grey as a polish colour.
How cool, congratulations!
Exquisite creation… Perhaps Alyssa was inspired by your cement post? π
One of Miss J’s favorite WendyB rings…Totally GORGEOUS. Congratulations on the pub!
Fabulous coverage!
Does taupe count? I’m wearing Chanel’s “Particuliere” at the moment.
The ring looks even more beautiful when it is being shown off on a hand! π And I’m a fan of the gray polish. π
This ring is heaven…
I love that big ring! I love the magenta with the green–very striking. But of course–what else can I expect from WendyB?
I’ve also gone gray polish. Gray, silver, metallic gray… everyone un-stylish has said, “Your nails look dead.” I dunno why people like that even have to say their opinion.
Beautiful ring and congratulations on being featured. I am wearing Chanel Particulere on my nails at the moment. x
Hi my dear-big congratulations indeed, a worthy and stunning ring needs all the attention it deserves!!
it is such a drool inducing ring!
congrats on the feature in Instyle!
xx
marian.
I sell fasteners (nuts, bolts and screws)to the West Coast and because of the head markings, I know which ones are the ones we manufacture–so I get VERY excited when I see my stuff in fitness equipments, vending machines and every day stuff–so I can only imagine how you must feel seeing your stuff in magazines and on people–I am very happy for you and you must be so thrilled your hard work paid off. Awesome!
That is a fabulous picture of the ring and it is one of my favorites of your rings, I always coo and dream when I look at it. Gray nails are fabulous too, I just love ’em.
The color is stunning!
congrats on being featured! that ring is stunning! i think this is the first time i’ve seen it on a finger before!
also i have a great taupe nail polish from ulta, but i haven’t found the perfect shade of grey yet!
Love the ring! Love the nail color! “Cement” is of the moment ;o)
Amazing coverage, Wendy! I am definitely dying over the greige nail color…
Such a stunning ring!
And I love the grey nails.
How fabulous. Congrats!
You know this is my favorite piece of yours, it is on my “if I win the lotto” list! I think I’ve even featured it on my site twice!
Congratulations! That ring looks amazing. Is it heavy?
I wish I could find a good gray nail polish, but somehow my skin tone doesn’t work very well with gray, except in clothing.
p.s.:
hey, darling, I have changed the name and url of my blog to http://www.thesugardiaries.com. please, update it in your lists π thanks, xxx
Congratulations! That’s a lovely photo of the ring. It is one of my favorite pieces of yours.
I really like the grey mani. I’ve used the Essie color chinchilly and it looks surprisingly good.
Putty dresses are not your friend eh? Ah ha ha. And oh the purple perfection that is that ring. Sigh. Belongs in In Style and so many more glossies!
How super awesome is THAT? Congrats on some well-deserved good press for that gorgeous ring!
Congrats on the well-deserved press! I think I was rocking cement nails with a hint of purple in my swear ring photos.
It is my favourite ring and one day it will be mine!! xx
Congrats on the feature! This ring is truly exquisite and it does tell a moving/tragic story just by looking. You are really very creative, both in your writing and designing style! Wishing more features in your future! =)
Lovely, it is art!
What an incredible ring, it looks so strong! π
xx
Cuz that ring is the shit!
I’ve always loved that ring Wendy! Everytime it’s featured on here, I’m always blown away! Alyssa’s nail colour is fab too.
Oh, that is just awesome, Wendy! That ring has always intrigued me. I kind of want to bite it a little. Or maybe just a quick lick. No, I think it has to be a nibble.
Gosh, this is stupendous news. Well-deserved exposure for WendyB. About the amethyst, am I seeing things, dear? It looks to me like someone is reflected in the stone, someone upside down with the right hand resting just below the hip, wearing a micro-skirt. Oh, well, maybe it’s just the effects of the return of daylight savings time!
Oh YUM. This is stunning!
Also – do you have any control over your anti-spam words? Because mine is “beyotch” and I’m cracking up
Every time I see the Marie Antoinette ring a part of me dies! I just love it so much. When I grow up, I want to be the kind of woman who owns this fabulous piece of jewellery. As soon as I get a proper job, I’ll be able to justify buying it (don’t hold your breath though, I like being an eternal student, even at 22)
Oh and I often sport grey nails, but they have to be grey and sparkly…more of a pewter than cement.
Loving the grey polish π
lovely…I’m fascinated by this type of jewelery:)
