It can take me months or, more rarely, years, till I wear certain pieces of clothing. Last night was the first time I wore a vintage Ungaro dress that I got on March 20, 2008. (I remember the date because I got the dress at my friend Evan Ross’s trunk show for his store Frock, and I went there directly from the photo shoot I mentioned here.) A party on the roof of the Empire Hotel seemed perfect for a dress featuring serious decolletage, neon stripes and a print of a person’s turban-adorned head. I topped it off with my Gloriana necklace.

Is the dude on the left giving me the side-eye?
As I was walking up to my friends at the entrance to the hotel, a woman caught my eye and said, “Beautiful dress!” After I thanked her, she exclaimed, “Wear it in good health!” I don’t know why, but that made my night.
UPDATED: For those wondering about the shoes, they are the same ol’ shoes that gorgeous blogger Jennine tried on here.
Wow! You look so gorgeous and happy here! What a great comment about wearing it in good health, too.
I was cracking up reading your post about Boo Lobbs! Poor Boo.
Wear it in good health? So random! The dress has such a lovely print.
I feel less bad about how long it takes me to wear new things–I’m glad I’m not alone!
