It can take me months or, more rarely, years, till I wear certain pieces of clothing. Last night was the first time I wore a vintage Ungaro dress that I got on March 20, 2008. (I remember the date because I got the dress at my friend Evan Ross’s trunk show for his store Frock, and I went there directly from the photo shoot I mentioned here.) A party on the roof of the Empire Hotel seemed perfect for a dress featuring serious decolletage, neon stripes and a print of a person’s turban-adorned head. I topped it off with my Gloriana necklace.

Is the dude on the left giving me the side-eye?
As I was walking up to my friends at the entrance to the hotel, a woman caught my eye and said, “Beautiful dress!” After I thanked her, she exclaimed, “Wear it in good health!” I don’t know why, but that made my night.
UPDATED: For those wondering about the shoes, they are the same ol’ shoes that gorgeous blogger Jennine tried on here.
Wow, that is quite the dress! I love the neckline on it – you look amazing in those vivid 80s colours. I am still drooling over the shoes…
What a great print! I suppose turbans are better on your dress than on your head, right?
Loving that dress!!!!!
Oh those shoes! Those shoes!
My anti-spam word: MANIPEDI
gorgeous…all the way down to the shoes!!
I love the smile on your face it goes with the dress.=) It is nice to be able to pull things out of the closet that you forgot you had. That way it is like shopping..well almost.=)
Oh snap! I thought I was the only one with the affliction of not being able to wear things right away. My friends think I’m insane; it takes me at least a month before I can wear something new, and sometimes up to 2 years! Ack! But then it ends up looking great, like your ungaro dress! 😉
The dress looks lovely on you. But…do tell about the shoes!!!
A truly stunning vintage, you wear it so well my dear and I adore those sandals!!
I nearly always wear things I buy IMMEDIATLY – even if it’s the wrong season/place/whatever! I admire for you waiting for the right time & place. xxxx
you look fabulous, the dress is stunning!
Very hot!
Love the dress, love the necklace, love the view!
Is that Tony Soprano checking you out back there 😉
That print is fabulous! You look divine, as always.
That is one amazing dress! I love the neckline with the neon. You look super. 🙂
Honestly, I am bamboozled by the shoes. They are perfect with the dress. Wow.

uhhhhmayyyyyyzing. And I’m digging the gold shoes. Argh! I stopped by Seven to peep these golden Kirkwoods that I’ve been lusting over… And I have to say, they are not as spectacular as your LVs!
You look beautiful!
i’m totally with you on the buying-a-lovely-dress-and-hanging-it-in-the-closet-for-ages-before-wearing thing. i am toooo guilty of doing this all the time! i had a gorgeous united bamboo dress that i bought and didn’t wear it for months and months. i think i need to pull wardrobe straws at least once a week to wear out some of my pieces! 🙂
Mazol tov! You look amazing from you head to your golden toes!
That is definitely a dress meant for partying!
Amazing dress, darling! I would be giving you the side-eye too!

Love the dress…love the shoes even more. What is your size? 😉
HE IS!!! Man. It’s probably one with awe and good intentions behind it. =D
Those shoes are sick. I sure would like to wear them with my star dress. Ah ha. And that sweet stranger was right. It is a most fabulous frock!
WOW! What a head turner! You are too GORGEOUS and those soles are solely breathtaking!
I am the exact same way about clothes…I will wait months/years until the right occasion springs up! I have many items that are still unworn, but I know their moment will come eventually 🙂 anyway, the dress looks great on you, and the shoes are tdf (i have long admired them from your pictures!)

Beautiful dress. Your much more patient than I am. If I had those shoes I think I’d wear them all the time. Your Gloriana necklace is magnificent!
Kind of dying, it’s such a gorgeous dress on you!
‘wear it in good health’ that’s an unusual but it doesnt sound like a bankhanded compliment…. so i guess it’s all good.
