My trip to L.A. full of interesting meetings. On Tuesday, I visited Kristin Londgren, a chic little boutique on West Third Street in Los Angeles.A I had a nice long chat with Kristin Londgren herself, who showed me her own line of clothing as well as the jewelry lines she carries.
Here are a few pictures of Kristin’s designs. I liked the origami-like detail on this top.
I know many of you fashion bloggers are crazy for capes.A The leather trim on this one gives it zing.
And here’s gorgeous Kristin holding a premiere-worthy gown.
The ruffle at the bottom of the gown deserved a close-up.
The whole time I was talking to Kristin, I kept noticing neon orange handbags out of the corner of my eye. They seemed so familiar, somehow. And they were! The handbag designer, Lana Shuttleworth, makes the bags out of old traffic cones. Here’s Kristin modeling the messenger bag.
The bags start at $150 for a little purse that would be good for evening. The messenger bag in the picture is $625. Neon colors are back in a big way, plus it’s so eco-chic to recycle!A To order, call Kristin at 323-653-9200 or, if you’re in L.A., visit the store at 8308 West Third Street. She’s just a few doors away from Joan’s on Third.
On Wednesday, as I mentioned here, I had a boisterous dinner with the L.A. blogging crowd. Here’s the group shot, taken by me.
From left to right: Alicia, Miss Janey, ENC, Sister Wolf, non-blogger MrB, Fashion Is Poison, Stef and Deja Pseu.
Sister Wolf and I had big plans to do the classic blogger face-touching pose and we totally forgot! I blame the four glasses of white wine that I had. Sister Wolf only had a teeny sip of a margarita so I don’t know what her excuse is.
I thought my trip couldn’t get any more exciting than that, but last night, as I was walking out of the hotel lobby, guess who was walking in with all their luggage? My idol, Coco, and her hot pimp, Ice-T! I was on my way to a movie but, due to my recent experience at Zang Toi’s apartment, I took a camera just in case something happened. So my second thought was to beg them to pose with me. (My initial thought was to throw myself down before Coco so she could tread on a devoted minion and not sully her feet by making contact with a mere floor.)A But they looked tired and like they wanted to check in and relax, so I thought it would be rude to bother them at that moment. However, I am planning to lurk around the hotel in hopes of getting another chance. Wish me luck!
UPDATED TO ADD: Alicia, Miss Janey and Sister Wolf also posted about the bloggers’ dinner.
