Today I wore the top and the shoes I got at the Castelbajac store in London.
I can only understand a few words in French, but I instantly comprehended the lady on the Metro who pointed at my feet and said (in French), “Your shoes…superb…superb.” MrB and I caught two other Metro mademoiselles giving me elevator eyes, starting at the shoes and traveling up. A sure sign of an excellent purchase!
More on Day 5 adventures in the next post.

Also that top is some stripe glory!

I find Europeans are not shy about direct elevator eyeballing. Especially Italians…
Miss Janey says
Ooo la la. Tres jolie!
K-Line says
OK, they are awesome. But I find it hard to believe that random Paris ladies would deign to show you their true feelings! 🙂 I couldn’t even manage a second look from chic french women. Of course, I wasn’t wearing those shoes.

shoe speak is an international language haha
deja pseu says
Fabulous ensemble. The shoes are indeed superb.

I’m gonna have to tell Lewis about “Elevator eyes”…too funny. He calls it the “you’ve just been felt up by a chick” look.
Tina says
Elevator eyes. Love that! But maybe they are “escalator eyes” if they only look you up OR down and not both?
catherine_sr. says
I love that look! The colors and b/w stripes are fantastic. I forgot to tell you that there is a brand here in Taipei called “Milida” that reminds me of your style. Their dresses are hard to describe. It’s like pop art collages made from really brightly colored fabrics. They don’t have a Web site b/c knock-offs are rampant here (I passed by the Taiwan govt.’t intellectual property services office today and nearly fell over laughing), but I’ll try to find a photo to show you. Hmmm… maybe I’ll just have to buy a dress for myself and take a picture of it.

By the way…when I lived in Paris I always thought that on the whole American women (you know what I mean, LA and NY types) were more chic than French women. And you beat most Parisiennes in that outfit!

I actually wanted to say this on your last post, but this post is the more appropriate platform to say it on. Say, how many pairs of shoes do you pack for a trip, Wendy? You always have the perfect ones to pair an outfit you wear on this trip alone!
