I can’t believe I was just in London and didn’t go to Browns! WTF! Well, I had more important things to do most days. But I love looking at the Browns website and I definitely regret not squeezing in a visit in person.
Right now I’m going crazy over a couple of pieces by Ashish, the king of sequins, on the Browns site.
I hated my childhood piano lessons because my teacher was a mean beyotch. But I instantly got over the trauma when I saw this sequined piano dress. Better than therapy!
In the ’80s, a few years after the piano lessons ceased, my main fashion statement was a denim jacket (with my Guess jeans that zipped at the ankle, of course). I would have been blown away by this sequined, denim, biker-style jacket.
I think I love the back view of the jacket even more. Here it is with a matching skirt.
And while I’m going crazy for sequins, check out this sculpted jacket by Marios Schwab. I will have to stalk this one in case it ever goes on sale. Love the waist action.
If you’re feeling the urge for sequins but can’t afford Ashish or Marios, there’s a nice-looking vintage jacket on eBay right now.
Remember, if you’re going to bid, you need to snipe. Snipe, dammit!
Speaking of London and sequins: In 2008, when I was hanging out in London with gorgeous bloggers Sharon and Times of Glory, I got a pair of black sequined pants by L’Wren Scott. This year, while at a five-hour, London-blogger lunch, I confessed I had yet to wear the pants. As I explained, I kept thinking I was going to wear them for some very dressy occasion but every time an occasion came, I decided on something else. On the spot at Harvey Nichols, I declared that I was just going to start wearing the pants “whenever.” So last night, when I took my gorgeous friend Melissa to Christian Francis Roth’s studio for shopping (she scored BIG TIME!) and out for post-shopping peach sangria, I wore the sequined pants. What with all the sangria, Melissa and I didn’t have our wits about us to take a picture while we were out, so I had to come back home and pose in the dreadful hallway.

It was a sequins and sangria night.
By the way, any of you who are in or will be in New York and who would like me to personally take you on a shopping trip to the Francis studio — complete with peach sangria after — let me know in the comments or holla at me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com. But it has to be in the next 10 days or so because the studio is moving away from the peach sangria neighborhood. I’m not sure how I’m going to survive because I’m a peach sangria addict and proud of it.
Now that I’ve gotten this post done, I can devote the rest of my day to figuring out what I’m going to wear to dinner with MrB tonight. We will be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. Any suggestions?
UPDATED TO ADD: Thanks to gorgeous blogger Jennine for pointing out these black sequined shorts on eBay.
Lured in by promises of sequins! You’re so teeny tiny and those pants are fab on you! I think that jacket is from Schwab for Fall… That was one of my favorite show from LFW for Fall… Even though I was hanging in the rafters (standing room of course), I still gasped with delight. Those prints are spectacular!
Those trousers are seriously awesome. Wedding anniversary? It’s got to be an Ossie occasion, surely?
Congratulations!!!
DS, I almost called this post Dream Sequins in your honor!
Ummm… day-um! Those pants are awesome. I would wear them every day too.
Hard to say what to wear. You could go all cheesy and wear your heart dress.
Happy Anniversary!
Poochie — you may be on to something. I have another insane/potentially embarrassing heart item that could be perfect for today.
First off…Happy Anniversary.
Next I must admit to being totally jealous that you had peach sangria. Yum! Great pants by the way. You definately should just wear them whenever.
I could really use some sequins AND peach sangria right now.
1. I totally had those Guess jeans with zippered ankles. Had to save up a long time for them!
2. I have recently become obsessed with sequins and almost scored a really awesome dress. But then I returned it.
3. Happy anniversary! Can you bust out another fabulous piece from the back of your closet that you’ve never worn?
4. My spam word was dagger. Cool.
Wendy – Paul:
Sangria, champagne, tequila – whatever. Have a glorious anniversary.
Love,
Aunt S & Uncle D
I love all the clothes, especially that piano dress. It is so glamorous eccentric! Congrats on your anniversary! Perhaps wear a nice dress–something sexy yet classy?
Happy Anniversary to you and Mr B, hope you have a fabulous day and evening-I know you will look stunning whatever you choose to wear! Those L’Wren Scott trousers are gorgeous, I scored a black sequin jacket on Saturday, which I must do a post on-a big yaay for sequins most definitely!!

Sassy!
Happy Anniversary to the Cutest. Couple. Evah. !!!
Egad, you look fantastic in those pants!!! I have a suggestion: Go to a chic rooftop patio bar/restaurant that’s really high up. OK?
When Miss J was a singer in Japan, her agent’s advice for any situation was, “Doing something sequins!” She would be so proud of WendyB and her sexy, sparkly pants.naturally, the same advice holds for eights anniversaries: “Doing something sequins!” And have a ball.
Happy Anniversary of course! U look so stunning Wendy B. STUNNING (as always9
XoXo
P.S. My Devi Kroell sandals are really comfy…cozy…yummy!
XoXo
Happy Anniversh!
That piano dress reminds me of Sha-Na-Na!
Is that how you spell Sha-Na-Na?
Remember the dude with the piano sleeve?
I’m dating myself.
Happy Anniversary! As an advocate on behalf of your prince-of-a-guy, MrB, I suggest the teeny Zang mini that you wore in London — I loved that picture of you and Zang!
Congrats on the anniversary! Hmm I may be in New York again this September and if I am, I’ll definitely look you up for a trip to Christian’s studio (wherever it’s moved to).
happy aniversary!
Wendy, I love how you dress so simply and unfussily yet your style can still be summed up in one word, which just happens to be the best word in the English dictionary in my opinion: FUN!
Damn WB, those pants are hottttttt!!! Sizzlin’!! (They also look good on you!)
Congrats on the anniversary!
That sequin piano dress and the sequin pants are fabulous!
Happy Anniversary! You look so great in those pants you make me want to pull out my black sequined jeans.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WENDY!!!
Had to smile about your “not being at Browns” and childhood piano teacher experiences 😉
Happy anniversary! And, holy moley, you look amazing in those pants. I love all the sequins around at the moment, but I’m not sure if I could pull them off … I’m coveting a sequined beret. Easing myself into it. 😉
A xx
Those pants are wicked! Congrats on the anniversary!
Congrats on your 8th, you two crazy kids!
No! Can’t believe you didn’t get to Browns – only a 5 to 10 minute walk from conduit st.
Love the sequin trousers and just peachy that you wore them out.
good luck with the anniversary planning x
Happy anniversary to you and Mr. B. OMG!!! I love those pants!! Wishing you many more years of wedded bliss and many more sequined goodies for your wardrobe.

btw, those sequins pants are KILLER. if anyone can pull it off, it’s def. you. and i really like how you paired it w/a simple black tee. perfect!
Happy Anniversary!
Since the pants haven’t gotten much love yet, why not wear them again?
You’re rocking those sequin pants!
I’d love to hear how you and Mr. B met and fell in love, if it’s not too personal of course 🙂
Gahhh! I. NEED. SEQUINS!!!! Well, now that I got that out of my system, love the pants! I always joked about a skirt like that to go over my piece before recitals, since I hated practicing, which lead to me not playing anymore.
Wowza! I bow before your hotness! Happy Wedded Bliss Day, chica!
I love the sequin pants – I am having a bit of a sequin moment myself. Happy happy anniversary too – love and hugs to you both!
Mmm, peach sangria sounds delicious. If I am ever in New York, I hope I’ll remember to ask you where to find it.
P.S. Happy anniversary, Wendy!
Wear the latex pants!
happy anniversary to you and mr. b.
dang wendyb! you have a rockin’ bod!
Hope you’re out there right now having the time of your life! ( while I’m late writing this.) Happy Anniversary!!!
Those sequined pants look really sexy on you! Should have shook those babies out and worn them sooner 😉
I LOVE THESE!!!!
Happy anniversary to the both of you. And wherever you do go, you should have more peach sangria. =D
Happy anniversary to you and your fabulous Mr. B. And those pants are so fab!
You’ve been choosing the confirmation words, haven’t you? 😉 I mean, “kthxbai”? I love the pants! They are stellar stellar stellar.
Happy Anni to the both of you!
I love Browns – it’s one of my favourite department stores – got some great stuff from there over the years.
I’m late to the sequin pants party, unfortunately. However, I think those pants deserve to be seen on you, while you have peach sangria every day, for the next ten days.
Welcome back from London and Happy Anniversary 8 years strong! I wish I had the courage to rock some sequence, especially in pant form…maybe soon. In the 80s I too rocked the guess demin but with double socks. Sweets!
OMG! Those pants are amazingly fabulous! I’m sure whatever you find to wear to celebrate your Anniversary will be incredible! “Congratulations on your 8th Anniversary!”
i love that dress. i didn’t finish my piano lessons, however, and therefore i have no right to wear it. i wish i learned how to play the piano, the guitar… anything! my entire family plays an instrument except me!
