Gala Mitchell was one of designer Ossie Clark‘s favorite models. I’m not sure it’s accurate to describe her as his muse — or one of his muses — but she’s definitely striking the right pose in this great picture.

Gala’s hair and eyebrows make her look like the lovechild of Magenta and Columbia from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And in the picture above, Ossie’s hair makes him look like Frank-N-Furter. Hmmm. Maybe the designer was a muse himself.

I like her hair. 🙂
That’s a pretty good observation!
Also, I haven’t watched the rocky horror picture show in ages. I think it’s time!
Love Ossie Clark. Love the costumes in Rocky Horror. Secretly wish I could dress like Magenta every day.
Hi there-Galas dress is just divine, they all looked ‘just so’ back in those days!!
That’s an uncanny observation!
I really love that dress she’s wearing, especially the big keyhole cutout at the front! Yow!
Love these vintage-y pics! Is that girl on the right in the second photo Ossie’s muse?

That is a great picture…and love the topshop ripoff blog too…you’re right, borrowing is one thing, but that was a complete copy! Can’t blame them for wanting to copy a great original though…:-)
