I was delighted to be mentioned in an article in Crain’s New York last month. Surprised too, because I found out only after a charming customer called to order the necklace that was featured. I think the customer was surprised to be talking directly to a surprised designer. I hope his gorgeous wife was surprised by the gift, because if she wasn’t, she would be the only person not surprised in this scenario.
Crain’s was right. The petite Mignonette is a “real steal” compared to most of my gold and gemstone pieces; I recently explained the size and weight of my pieces as well as the labor that goes into setting them. The Mignonette is the kind of piece I occasionally create as an alternative to my usual look; it’s perfect for someone who needs a discreet piece of jewelry for everyday wear. The flower is only 3/8″ wide. You can compare that to something like the Boleyn Necklace, which is 2″ long. Obviously the little one is the steal!
I happen to be out of Mignonettes right now, but if you want to order one, email me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com, and I’ll have it for you in about two weeks.
Remember that I have a lot of other items for under $500. You can sort the pieces on my site by price; the majority of the under-$500 items are in the silver collection.
UPDATED TO ADD: Thanks to gorgeous bloggers Sarah-Rose and Craig for mentioning me today. Glad they like the jewelry and the swearing.
wendyb, i love your jewelry! but life and bills prevents me from owning a piece…one day, tho. i have my heart set on a few gorgeous items.
dainty and delicate just like i like ’em! i’m gonna wear mine tomorrow!
Congrats Wendy darling!!!! I hope you didn’t mind me mentioning you in my blog!
Wendy, I think it’s kind of funny that Britney ran off with one of your pieces from that infamous shoot. I’m just imagining it…
That is so cool!!
I’m surprised the Mignonette is a necklace, and not a piece of meat.
Sorry, I had to.
I’ve always loved that necklace. It’s the kind of thing a girl would put on and never take off.
Congratulations! 🙂
awww, what a lovely gift for a wife!
Hi there-fabulous coverage, I’m so pleased for you! Much deserved on these divine pieces!!
Oh wow, that is fantastic! The necklace and earring set are really beautiful and so classic.
It’s great that you explained a bit about the process, most don’t realize how much time and what expensive processes may be required to produce a beautiful little bauble, or anything else handmade, for that matter – if they’re not involved themselves.
(I’ve spent 30 hours handfelting, lining and embellishing a bag – if people only knew!)
By the way, my favourite is the Camellia necklace. Dreamy.
Congrats, beautiful! A happy surprise for you, the buyer, AND the recipient.
Congrats!! I am so glad to hear you get recognition for your work 😉
Woo hoo! You are blowin’ up, WB! Tipping point time!
