I’m the one in the Deep Purple t-shirt.
Thanks (sorta) to my cousin Gary (the kid with bad posture) for digging up this approximately 25-year-old photo. That’s Terri Berry on the left and Gary’s father, David, in the back.
Despite my awesome blonde bangs and concert tee (yes, I did go see the band!), I wasn’t as cool as some of my contemporaries. I Am a Greedy Girl discovered this 1983 photo of some unidentified wimmins.
I WEAR SHORT SHORTS! i what i LOVE most about summer, actually. haha…thanks for a great post!

OMG looooove these photos! How did you get them online – did you have slides??
xoxox,
CC
I think my cousin might have scanned it? That’s what I usually do.
Enthralled and a littled frightened. She looks like she’d yank a bitch bald-headed just for laughs.
I didn’t wear short shorts but I did wear a red satin baseball-style jacket. I loved that jacket!
Re: The second pic – no teen should ever be out in a RUSH cap! Damn 80s! 🙂
You look ADORABLE in the top one though. You’re so dainty and cute. Obviously you were set to grow up to be a hot mama.
That last picture looks like what The Donnas might have taped up to their Wall of Inspiration.
The girl with the Rush hat and split shorts is priceless 🙂
I wore Dolphin shorts!
Short shorts are still so, so cool! 🙂
PS: We’ll never go out of style. BRUNETTES 4EVER! 😉
my mom rocked a poodle curl back in 83 just like the girl on the left!
You had the same vivacious smile even then. Very nice. 🙂
Hi there-its amazing how everything back then was soo high waisted, low slung was unheard of!!
It is quite possible that that crazy-lidded person on the left (in that picture with the blonde you like) is my husband, Mr.OM!
You look so cute, Wendy!
As for the totally 80s photo… can you say “camel toe”??!! My goodness.
Wendy, I ADORE Deep Purple! And, yes, I did see them in concert as well as Whitesnake. Oh my, this photo just made my evening xxxx
I had almost exactly the same haircut you did in the early 80s.
oh lord, deep purple – with attitude. hottest thing i’ve seen all day!
Ah, the county fair girls. Interestingly enough, the young “ladies” at our county fair dress pretty much the same. But without the Rush hat. They wouldn’t know who Rush was.
Ah what’s the worry you look great and cool legs!
I have to say I’m watching Ugly Betty and this is the first epsisode and freak me but Betty is wearing a complete Boleyn necklace rip off? How?
haha YES! i love these pictures!
You look so adorable Wendy, it’s almost enough to make me jump through time just to ruffle your bangs!
Those bottom chicks are scary, we would have called them “bushpigs” when I was a teenager (although I wore short shorts too, just mine were surfer girl ones).
Haha the blonde in the bottom picture looks so full of attitude!
You look coolest =]

hahahaha. i love the bad ass blonde as well!
she really is a bad ass!
you were such a cute kid, love the highlights and shorts. you are one stylish chick!
I had color block Dolphin running shorts! Only mine were dark purple and light purple. I lovvvvvved them.
omg Wendy you look exactly like you did 25 years ago! you lucky thing!!!
PS. May I clone your genes? Or whatever it is that is PREVENTING you from aging!
rockin!
I had three pairs of those two-tone shorts Miss Rush Hat is wearing. I was only 11 so they looked worse on my stick straight body than on her. My teenage next-dorr neighter had tons of pairs of them and the bleach blonde, permed hair as well. I should dig up the photo we have of her and post it in my blog!
wow. and WOW. love the deep purple shirt 🙂 and also very enthralled by the bad-ass blonde. amazing. i think i owned the jeans to the left though.
You were gorgeous, Wendy! There’s slight tomboy quality to your look. Very cool I think.
LOL that picture is fab.
amazing bangs! i was a sun-in addict from the ages of 8 to 10. then i moved up to professional dye jobs. yes, my mother should be fired.
WOW… those are vintage DOLPHIN shorts! All the rage in the early 80s! LOL… RIchard Simmons is still wearing them!
Oh hell yeah! I love Deep Purple too! I don’t know if for you its loved and not love, though! I saw them live too.
