Coveting Limited Edition Lips

In November, Lancome will introduce Piha Red lipstick, inspired by the red sole of Christian Louboutin shoes. It comes as a set with a black lipgloss. Awesome! But the set is a limited edition and there’s a waiting list. I’ve never been on a waiting list for a lipstick. That seems … peculiar. Should I do it?

Speaking of lipstick, I was excited to see that Stila has a color called “Wendy,” but disappointed to see it described as a “sheer rosy stain.” Any lipstick called “Wendy” should be fire-engine red!

UPDATED TO ADD: I did it! And you know I’m going to forget about it by the time November rolls around, so it will be a nice surprise.

  8. I love the idea of a waiting list for just about anything. I say do it. And try to skip the list, which is really the most satisfying part of a list, anyway.

  9. do it, wendy! there are some things one has to do at least once in a lifetime, and being on a waiting list for a limited edition object is one of them. apart from that, i think the lipstick would look great on you! go for it!

  11. Thoose lips! I love red lipstick and although I hardly ever wear lipstick when I do it’s red. Instead I always have fire engine red nails kept short. Feisty!

  12. Of course– I spent months & years looking for a red lip gloss, to find nothing good. And this looks like it could be perfect.

    Why do I have to fall in love with something limited to 500 copies?!

    When I called they did it as a pre-order not a waiting list. Did you get the same thing?

  35. Oh wow! I saw the red and black combo thing on the New York Times T magazine, but they only showed the tubes… I was dubious, but now that i see it on (photoshopped on?), it looks kinda hot! I might join you on that waiting list Wendy!
